Government of the Yaroslavl region (Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM))

In the Government of the Yaroslavl region implementation of processes on management of program assets — Software Asset Management (SAM) came to the end.

Since 2010 the Government of the Yaroslavl region carries out basic SAM as the tool of an annual inventory. There is collecting of complete and exact information about acquired assets and also about assets which are in use. According to the results of check the Government of the Yaroslavl region receives uniform data array about purchases, the report on the revealed risks, a technique of work on risk reduction and the reasonable purchase plan which allows to save a considerable part of budgetary funds. Annual projects allow to adjust processes of accounting and operation of IT assets in all available divisions.

In 2011 the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 tool which combines a set of technologies for the solution SAM of tasks was selected from the Government of the Yaroslavl region for project implementation on implementation of processes of SAM. In 2012 migration on the latest version of a product — Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 was made.

According to the results of the project, the Government of the Yaroslavl region gave infrastructure according to rules of corporate licensing of Microsoft and the international standards ISO/IEC 19770-1. Also the optimal plan for improvement of processes of SAM was developed, legal, technical and economic risks are reduced by the investigation of what almost to zero.

The government of the Yaroslavl region by means of projects on implementation of SAM of processes created a centralized system on management of program assets in all structural divisions, increased working capacity and increased security of infrastructure.
