Softline announced in January, 2015 end of a pilot project on project management system implementation based on Microsoft Project Server 2013 in the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center. The solution automated processes of studying of public opinion and simplified interaction between project teams.
The All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (ARPORC) – the oldest and most known Russian company conducting surveys by orders of federal and regional public authorities and also electoral and political researches. At the same time two thirds of customers of the company are not representatives of a public sector - it is private business and non-profit structures.
Earlier project managers VCIOM used local means of Microsoft Office in the work. But over time growth of number of orders for researches led to the fact that in the company there was an urgent need to automate process of management of projects and to consolidate information within one platform.
Having compared several project management systems, the management VCIOM stopped the choice on the Microsoft Project Server 2013 platform as it most conformed to requirements of the customer. In particular, the solution differed in simplicity of support, optimal cost and opportunities of customization.
The partner of the project selected Softline company which submitted the most advantageous offer. Extensive experience of the company in implementation of integration projects on the basis of solutions of Microsoft also became for the customer one of the factors which influenced the choice of the partner.
Project implementation for VCIOM lasted four months. During this time specialists of department of solutions of Microsoft of Softline company prepared technical specifications, unrolled at capacities of the customer of Microsoft Project Server 2013, performed necessary settings of a system. After that trial operation of a system with consulting support of engineers of Softline was carried out. The certified training of specialists VCIOM to work with a system provided in Softline training center became a separate stage of the project.
The solution Project Server allowed to consolidate VCIOM project information of the company in the uniform application. Now the staff of project office can keep track of the actual employment of contractors and conduct cross loading of personnel. In addition, the solution of Microsoft completely automated process of creation of projects: employees VCIOM can create any standard project in one click. Templates considerably reduced time for creation of projects and purpose of tasks to contractors.
Automation of communications on projects became an important innovation. Now contractors receive tasks of e-mail, and report - via the Project Web Access web interface. Besides, project managers noted convenience of an automated system of the reporting. Plan-faktovy the analysis, the report on the carried-out tasks and employment of personnel – all this allows to observe accurately terms of projects and to competently distribute loading between contractors.
Stepan Lvov, the head of socio-political researches VCIOM, shared: "Earlier process of management of projects was not automated. The number of projects grew, and it was heavier and heavier to project managers to cope with loading.
