The Russian institute of radio navigation and time upgrades a koprorativny mail system

The Softline company completed creation of a mail system on the basis of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 for the Russian institute of radio navigation and time, the company in the press release of June 19, 2013 reported.

Undertaking

At the end of 2011 the management of RIRV made the decision on the conclusion of the license agreement Enterprise Agreement Subscription with Microsoft company, having selected the platform of vendor as the corporate standard.

The partner in delivery of software - Softline company. The first project after conclusion of an agreement - implementation of corporate mail on the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 platform.

Implementation

The project was begun with detailed collection of information on platforms and the unrolled analysis of infrastructure on the basis of which developed final architecture of a mail system for RIRV. Migration of a mail system on the new platform specialists of department of solutions of Microsoft of Softline company vypolnbli the built-in means, by means of hand-written scripts of Powershell, it is complicated a task a little and could break terms, but thanks to harmonious joint work of a team of the contractor and customer the project is complete in time.

Details

A mail system is organized on two nodes, providing fault tolerance of the solution using the most modern methods of virtualization. In addition engineers of the contractor configured replication of Database Availability Group (DAG) that allowed to increase reliability of the solution – at unavailability of one server to users the copy of base on other server is automatically activated.

Servers of external access for users and HUB Transport are configured that allowed to organize smooth operation of a system of e-mail. The system of the Active Directory directory on the basis of Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 including two servers at the central office that provided sufficient fault tolerance and a possibility of authorization and access to local resources of users of any division of institute is expanded.

On the platform the reserve domain controller, for reliability augmentation and service quality is placed. Providing data migration of users engineers of Softline developed technology of transfer and created instructions thanks to which technical specialists of RIRV in short terms transferred more than 50 profiles to the new system of e-mail.

Alexey Somov, the head of department of infrastructure projects of department of solutions of Microsoft of Softline company, noted: "In a project deliverable on upgrade of a mail system the flexible, failsafe and managed infrastructure is constructed, the number of the hardware used for service of the mail systems decreased".
