Kharanorskaya GRES aims at decrease in business risks and implements an implementation project of SAM

The Softline company announced on June 21, 2013 project completion on implementation of technology of management of program assets (Software Asset Management, SAM) in Kharanorskaya GRES.

Aspiration

The management of power plant aimed to reduce business risks and to refuse use of the non-licensed software. With respect thereto the decision on implementation of technology of management of program assets is made (Software Asset Management, SAM). Based on the held tender the project was approved to implementation by Softline company.

Amendments

Considering the available IT infrastructure, a circle of tasks and business needs of the enterprise, for automation of process of management of program assets selected the software package FlexNet in which entered necessary information on the software used at power plant.

"Certainly, main customers of management systems for program assets are the large organizations where similar business processes are not automated or are not optimal. However Kharanorskaya GRES, despite the small computer park, thought of automation of some processes of SAM that speaks about the high importance of this part of IT for the enterprise", - Vladimir Razuvaev, the director of the department of business consulting of Softline noted.

Result

Implementation of SAM technology on Kharanorskaya GRES allowed IT heads to redistribute significantly labor costs of division, having provided a clear understanding of the PC configurations of users and their use and also having reduced financial, legal and operational risks.

"Thanks to the project implemented by Softline company, in the largest thermal power station of East Transbaikalia the management practice by program assets which allowed us to estimate in a new way with higher quality efficiency of activity of IT department is implemented", - Roman Lesnikov, the chief of service IT of management of information technologies and telecommunications of Kharanorskaya GRES emphasized.
