In central office of Sberbank of Russia system implementation of management of the jobs located in an Internet segment of corporate network on the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 platform is complete, the press service of Microsoft company reported on June 25, 2013.
Components
The solution includes automatic installation of all used business applications and the last updates of systems on security, the centralized collecting and processing of inventory information and also creation and issue of reports. Besides, the Bank if necessary will be able to implement also new functionality, for example, the remote help to users.
Job
Implementation was carried out in two steps by specialists of Management of Technical Support of Central office of Sberbank of Russia and consultants of Microsoft Consulting Services.
Within the first stage in a data processing center of Central office of Sberbank of Russia the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 dedicated server is installed. The clients set in 8500 stationary workplaces of an Internet segment of Central office and the Moscow bank are connected to it.
Implementation of a stage was complicated by rather wide geography – a system covers about 800 structural divisions of Sberbank in Moscow. As not all channels high-speed and qualitative, during the project paid special attention to a problem of decrease in influence on network, for example, to installation of applications at which it is required to transfer the considerable volume of traffic. The problem was solved using installation in several largest offices of the Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 servers with a role "a distribution point" (Distribution Point).
The second stage provided a possibility of centralized operation with notebooks of mobile employees. They, as a rule, work far off and are connected to external network segment of Sberbank through VPN, or work on the Internet. For management of these clients on a dedicated server additional roles of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 were set.
