Life displays IT infrastructure in a dynamic status

Life financial Group and the company "Jet Infosystems" announced on June 25, 2013 project completion on creation of dynamic IT infrastructure on the platform of solutions VMware vSphere and IBM SVC.

The Life financial Group develops prompt rates. The service portfolio extends, the number of departments and clients increases, load of systems increases. For ensuring fast changings in business of the company it is necessary to change approach to formation of the IT platform of Group. In 2010 the course towards creation of dynamic IT infrastructure is selected from partnership with Jet Infosystems company.

Job

Components of IT infrastructure of business and critical applications are unified and consolidated:

• systems of processing OpenWay and three core banking systems (RSBank, FrontLife, Interbank).
• mechanisms of automatic migration of computing tasks between servers and storage systems without stopping of business processes are implemented (on a case of emergency situations or carrying out service works).

Implementing the concept selected the unified hardware platform and mechanisms of data protection of the main banking systems. All databases and applications "took out" in uniform external storage. 26 networks of storage of SAN are united in the general hierarchical structure. All server applications and database servers are moved in virtual environment of VMware vSphere and IBM of SVC.

Result

Consolidation of components of IT infrastructure improved use of the existing computing resources. Thanks to load distribution on disk arrays and servers it was succeeded to release considerable resources for performance improvement of existing applications and implementation of the new systems. Significantly the fault tolerance and performance of information systems increased: if necessary they can use hardware resources of each other, without interrupting the work. Now creation of IT infrastructure for new banking applications requires no more than 1 week whereas earlier on it left up to 4 months.
