Softline completed an implementation project of a management system for backup of a directory service of Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory and development of the abnormal plan of recovery of the Active Directory for Baltika company, the press service of the company reported on August 1, 2013.
Start of Project
In recent years the Active Directory on Baltika developed, as in terms of geographical scaling (the directory service controls more than 100 offices in the territory of Russia and Eastern Europe), and in terms of integration with other IT services which use a directory service for access control. The decision to implement a separate management system for backup of a directory service which would allow to minimize influence of potential failures in work of a directory service on business services of the company was made.
Project Progress
For the solution of a task of creation of DRP specialists of Softline carried out the complex analysis of the current infrastructure to Baltika companies, developed backup procedures of a directory service taking into account requirements to quantity and structure of backup copies, places of their permanent storage, frequency of accomplishment of backup and a test procedure of backup copies and recovery of the wood of the active directory at approach of different emergency situations. Processes of creation of backup copies, recovery of information and the wood of the active directory were automated using the QUEST Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition software product.
With completion of works the customer received a specialized complex of management of backup of a directory service, complete with regulations and test laboratory by means of which quickly solve necessary problems of ensuring fault tolerance and recovery of a directory service after failures.
