SPBAEP changes Oracle Primavera for Microsoft SQL

The Softline company in branch of JSC of "The east European leading research and design institute of energy technologies" SPBAEP (GI VNIPIET) completed the project of migration of a project management system Primavera from the Oracle platform on the Microsoft SQL Server, the press service of integrator reported on August 1, 2013. The project is implemented together with Microsoft.

Project Background

By estimates of specialists of the customer, change of a project management system will reduce costs for support of the solution approximately by 50%.

"Migration of a project management system on the new platform completely corresponds to the strategy for optimization of operating expenses implemented in corporation. We already see that the Microsoft SQL Server platform helped to reduce considerably total cost of ownership the solution, and we expect in the medium term of cost reduction on its support approximately for 50%. Besides, this project is an important stage of creation in our organization of a common information space and full automation of design process", - Mikhail Muromsky, the head of department of design automation of DPIT JSC GI VNIPIET noted.

Primavera is the key solution for project management of design of nuclear power plants. Using a system specialists of GI VNIPIET develop detail schedules of works, including diagrams of release of necessary documentation, appoint resources, carry out budgeting, etc. Primavera is integrated with a system of accounting of the work documentation created on the basis of the Microsoft SQL Server and integration into some other applications is planned. The enterprise will receive a common information space in which the design process including as directly design of the NPP, and all documentation necessary for this purpose will be automated.

Project Progress
