The Elar corporation completed implementation of the new archive optical drive "Elar NSM" of the BD series in Russian Standard commercial bank, the press service of corporation reported on August 8, 2013.
Project Background
Within the last 10 years in Russian Standard as an archive storage system Elar of NSM of the CD\DVD series was used. The increasing information volumes forced to make the decision on replacement of the outdated device by a modern optical drive.
Project Results
As a result of implementation Elar of NSM of the BD series the amount of contemporary records in near-line access can be increased up to 35 TB at application of optical disks of the BDXL WORM format with an amount of 100 GB. The managing software which main feature, in addition to fixed functions, is the built-in system of control "monitoring" a physical status of optical mediums is in addition updated.
