ELAR NSM of the C BD series - archive optical drives ELAR NSM of the BD series - family of drives of modular construction in which the Blu-ray technology is used, with an amount of storage up to 100 GB on one carrier, guaranteeing the term of life of optical standard mediums 20 times longer, than the term of life of the backup or archive copy on hard drives (HDD) or a tape.
The SmartPack technology combines a possibility of "hot" replacement with the guaranteed protection against scratches, dust, blows, light and X-rays. All archive optical drives ELAR NSM of the BD series can be easily integrated into the existing infrastructure of the companies.
Ecological compatibility
Archive optical drives ELAR NSM of the BD series are harmless to the environment and take less places, than the normal water cooler (for 69 TB drives 0.27 sq.m of the area are required). In comparison with other technologies of archiving of data optical drives ELAR NSM of the BD series – the solution for archiving with very low power consumption proposing the safe and reliable long-term solution on storage of your information.
Advantages
- The robotic archive optical drives near-line of access with amounts of storage up to 69 TB at some an archive optical drive;
- 15 disk SmartPack shops using "contactless" technology;
- Direct (DAS) connection to the managing server via the SAS interface;
- Built-in diagnostic aids;
- Supply system with "hot" reservation;
- Installation in 19" standard server cabinets;
- Broad range of the used carriers – from carriers with a possibility of single record (WORM) to re-recorded carriers, from CD/DVD to BD;
- Data transfer rate up to 252 MB/sec. (to 20 TB in day);
- Maintenance is not required.
Software maintenance
- Software maintenance of management of archive optical drives for Windows, Apple Mac, Linux and other operational platforms;
- Connection of archive optical drives actually to any application through the file system or via the API interface;
- Options of management of storage: a hierarchical storage system (HSM), "mirroring" and setup of a cache for reading/record, using UDF and other file systems;
- Logical volumes contain one or several physical media which number can be increased dynamically, and have functionality of WORM (single record on carriers) or WRITE (control of re-recorded carriers).
