NIIFI centralizes a management system for IT infrastructure

The Softline company completed an implementation project of the centralized control system of IT infrastructure on the Microsoft System Center 2012 platform in Research institute of physical measurements, the press service of the company reported on August 12, 2013.

Project Background

NIIFI has difficult IT infrastructure with a large number of the equipment and volume of the used software products. Functioning of large-scale structure requires serious IT support.

For implementation of this project of the party defined a main objective - increase in effective management of infrastructure, a possibility of timely receiving up-to-date information about its current status and timely response to incidents.

For the help in creation of an effective management system and monitoring the management of NIIFI addressed to Softline company. As an optimal solution of assigned tasks specialists of Softline suggested to implement integrated solution for management of IT infrastructure – Microsoft System Center 2012.

Project Progress

The project was implemented in several stages:

• system design;

• implementation of a management subsystem PC and servers;

• implementation of a subsystem of monitoring of IT infrastructure;

• carrying out tests and development of necessary documentation.

In the course of conducting works engineers of the company taught IT specialists of NIIFI to work with a new solution.

"Thanks to implementing solution of Microsoft the institute had an opportunity quickly and effectively to perform monitoring of a server framework, to automate process of commissioning of new PCs, on a centralized basis to set the software and also to regularly carry out inventory of the equipment", - Andrey Samsonov, the chief of the sector of system support of JSC NIIFI noted.

"Reduction of time for monitoring and service of IT infrastructure became a project deliverable. The customer received the effective management tool allowing to keep a status of IT services under control and to quickly make necessary changes", - Yury Pikhun, the sales manager of solutions of Softline in Nizhny Novgorod emphasized.
