The medical center MSU implements a medical information system

The IBS company completed creation of a medical information system in the Medical center MSU, on the platform of MIS Jemys, the press service of integrator reported on August 19, 2013.

Project Background

The field of activity of the center and its status impose quite strict requirements to storage system and access to medical data: it should support considerable information volumes, be scaled, conform to the Russian and international standards of data access and their representation.

Solving this problem specialists of FFM MSU and IBS company began the complex project of creation of information and communication infrastructure of the MSU Medical center.

Project Progress

The specialized hardware-software solution of management of medical content of StorageGrid of Netapp company became the first part of infrastructure. Access to diverse unstructured data is provided with products of Forcare company, the supporting integration IHE profiles.

The second component of the created infrastructure - the multifunction medical information system (MIS) Jemys of DZhEMIS Medical Systems company.

Subsystems of telemedicine and distance learning, the system of operational television, sound amplification, video projection and synchronous translation in a conference room and audiences of the medical center are installed. With their help the staff of the Medical center and faculty has an opportunity to interact actively with other medical, scientific and training centers as in the territory of Russia, and abroad.

Project Results

The created infrastructure helps to organize exchange of electronic medical documents with other research, educational and medical institutions of the country. She helps to solve, how available, and perspective problems of informatization of medical, research and educational activity of organization. Orientation to cloud computing allows users to get access to computing resources of the center irrespective of their location.

Vsevolod Tkachuk, the dean of faculty of fundamental medicine of Lomonosov Moscow State University, noted: "At construction of our medical center we set to ourselves ambitious tasks – to become the best in Europe, to conduct unique medical researches and to let out the best specialists, world-class. All this is impossible without use of the latest developments in information technology field. That infrastructure which was created as a result of joint work of staff of our faculty and specialists of IBS company, really erases borders, allowing our employees and students to make use of all world experience in the activity. And the storage system and processings of the medical data obtained by us is a unique source for application studies in the field of medicine and pharmacology".
