The Softline company executed the project on the organization of scaling of telephony of Abak-Press media holding (in the city of Kazan), on the basis of Microsoft Lync Server technologies, the press service of the company reported on August 22, 2013.
Project Background
Now the Abak-Press media holding has the distributed structure of representations with the general state more than 900 employees for whom permanent and high-quality communications are necessary. With respect thereto before the management of IT department of holding there was a problem of upgrade of a system of the joint communications.
After demonstration by specialists of Softline of a system of the joint communications on the Lync Server platform, the management of media holding approved accomplishment of a pilot project for further distribution of technology in all branches.
"At the central office in Yekaterinburg the project on implementation of Lync and integration with telephony is executed one and a half years ago. Scaling assumed carrying out similar works in one of branches and consolidation of systems in one communication space. In Kazan for integration of Lync with telephony we used a program media gateway on the basis of Asterisk, - Dmitry Nagovitsyn, the head of the center of solutions of Softline company in the Ural Federal District and Perm Krai noted. - The Lync servers of the central office and representation are deployed in one ecosystem also integrated with telephony that allows to use the joint communications in the protected corporate environment and reduces costs for telephony. As this project was pilot and its results were more than successful, similar conversions in all branches of holding are in the future planned".
Expectations from the project
Project implementation and the subsequent development of the implemented system of the joint communications will allow to simplify process of use of means of daily communication, to reduce the cost of ownership of a system at the expense of a possibility of implementation of calls to a public telephone network.
"Upgrade of telephony allowed us to implement the concept of new remote office (branch) in practice. Use in workplaces of staff of Lync integrated with telephony instead of normal analog phones, allowed to minimize the need for a cable network and to replace it with Wi-Fi. Thus, we saved on the capital investments when moving to new office, having involved the infrastructure of SCS which is already available in the building complemented with our Wi-Fi and received really mobile office. The staff of the Kazan office purchased the convenient tool which allows them to find and dial more quickly the customer number, using the Outlook notebook or data from the CRM system, not making excess actions", – Alexey Talipov, the head of the distributed support service of IT of Abak-Press media holding emphasized.
