Giprotruboprovod automates accounting of IT assets

On October 11, 2013 the Service Resource company announced system implementation of automation of accounting of IT assets in JSC Giprotruboprovod.

Project Tasks

The decision on system implementation of automation of accounting of assets is made by JSC Giprotruboprovod within the strategy of improvement of management accounting. The first task set for IT department of the enterprise - value assessment of ownership of jobs of employees. As a result of the booked internal audit it is revealed that one of main articles of expenses contains in purchase and technical support of the software.

Analyzing the market of systems of accounting of IT assets, the Giprotruboprovod enterprise stopped the choice on the solution of Symantec - on Symantec Client Management Suite and Symantec Asset Management Suite.

As the contractor of the project the Service Resource company is selected.

Project Progress

The Service Resource company completed the first stage of system implementation of inventory and operational accounting program and the hardware in JSC Giprotruboprovod.

During the project technical experts Service Resource developed the mechanism of accurate accounting of all of the models of licensing of the software used at the enterprise. As a result the implemented system keeps automatic account of licenses on system and the application software set on jobs and servers. A system contains the module of intellectual distribution of licenses between physical and virtual environments. In particular the enterprise had an opportunity of accounting of the licenses VMware ESX Server, Symantec BackupExec for Servers and also server OS of Microsoft.
