"The Siberian scientific analytical center" migrates on Exchange

On December 27, 2013 the Softline company announced end of the complex project on migration of a mail system of "The Siberian scientific analytical center" on Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.

Project Tasks

Within the large-scale program of development of IT infrastructure of research center before its department of program maintenance there was a problem of upgrade of a mail system as the available solution could not provide high efficiency of interaction between employees.

The management of SibNATs jointly with specialists of Softline selected for project implementation the complete solution on the basis of Microsoft Exchange Server 2013.

"The main advantage provided to Exchange 2013 is a possibility of the centralized storage of letters of users on the server and flexible management by them. The solution reduces risks of loss of correspondence in case of failure of the workstation. The functionality of the transport rules allowing to differentiate permission to correspondence of staff of the company with external users is also important, - Dmitry Nagovitsyn, the head of the Center of solutions of Softline company in the Ural Federal District and Perm Krai noted. – Besides, unlike the previous mail system, the Exchange 2013 server is integrated into the Active Directory that gives advantage to transparent user authentication at access to a mailbox".

Project Progress

Specialists of Softline should upgrade the system of communications of SibNATs in minimum possible terms. Project implementation was completely enabled by the Center of solutions Softline – beginning from audit of IT infrastructure, setup of the necessary software and finishing with training of technical specialists of the customer in administration of the mail Exchange 2013 system.

Project Results

According to the results of the project the efficiency and quality of communication of employees - due to expansion of functionality of the mail solution increased. In particular, the possibility of shared access to calendars and tasks, support of mobile devices and web access and also additional functionality of resource planning appeared. Communication expenses between divisions of scientific analytical center were reduced. SIBNATS received a scalable solution with more flexible management system.

Every year the number of employees of scientific center who work remotely increases. In the project implemented by Softline one of the major tasks is solved – the "territorial" barrier is removed, the lack of communications between remote workers is liquidated, the full-fledged collective work of people – regardless of their location is organized.
