The Russian representative office of Eni S.p.A is the largest oil and gas company in Italy and one of the largest in the world.
Eni S.p.A was founded in 1953. by the Italian government. The headquarters is located in Rome. The total staff of the company exceeds 75 thousand people.

2025: Liquidation of representative office in Russia
Italian oil and gas group Eni S.p.A. liquidated its representative office in Russia. Accreditation of the representative office operating in Moscow since 2000 has been terminated since June 5, 2025. This was announced in June 2025 in the State Register of Accredited Branches, Representative Offices of Foreign Legal Entities (RAFP). Since January 2025, the representative office has been headed by Kazakhstani Nurzhan Kamalov, who is also the general director of Eni Energia LLC in Moscow[1]
2012
The company operates in 79 countries and owns a network of gas stations under the Agip brand, the Enipower energy company, and also has oil refining facilities.
In Russia, Eni S.p.A owns 50% of the Blue Stream pipeline project. In April 2012 Rosneft and Eni S.p.A signed a strategic agreement on the joint development of the Barents and Black Seas shelf.
