VimpelCom develops reference networks in regions of the Russian Federation

On February 21, 2014 the CTI company announced end of a complex of works on deployment of nodes of reference network of mobile data transmission for JSC VimpelCom in St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and in Kaliningrad.

Project Progress

As nodes of reference network products of Cisco company on the basis of the universal ASR 5000 platform are used. The characteristic of the solution is - broad functionality in use of the hardware: the node can carry out equally effectively different tasks depending on the loaded program. In combination with the multilevel mechanism of reliability assurance and excellent indicators of subscriber capacity and energy consumption, use of Cisco ASR 5000 allows to combine on one hardware platform as earlier implemented GGSN service (2G and 3G), and SGSN service (2G and 3G) and, further, elements of MME (4G) network.

Project Results

For February 20, 2014 the CTI company made deployment of SGSN (3G) of nodes in St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk and also MME (4G) in Kaliningrad. It is the first stage of works. Continuation of the project is necessary in Rostov-on-Don and Yekaterinburg.

The network of fourth generation from VimpelCom built through CTI on the basis of the solution Cisco functions in Kaliningrad. Start 4G in St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg is planned for the near future.
