MTS deploys the service of hybrid television

On February 26, 2014 the Nvision Group company announced preparation for the project of creation of a system of hybrid television for the telecom operator of MTS.

Project Tasks

In implementation process of the project the integrator should integrate all used signal push technologies in a unified environment of distribution of video content.

The project is implemented on a technology platform of Ericsson. Users of the Moscow region will get access to the convergent services using all push technologies of a signal (DVB–S, DVB-C, IPTV, OTT TV and mobile television on meringue of 3G networks and LTE), in the pilot mode - summer of 2014.

Project Progress

The company NVision Group booked audit of network infrastructure of the operator, upgraded it, jointly with specialists of Ericsson developed the unique solution, integrated the platform with OSS/BSS systems MTS and also directs project implementation.

"The uniform mediasreda constructed in fact using the cloud principles allows subscribers to watch favourite programs and movies, to use popular Internet services on any devices and at any time, without thinking of content delivery modes. At last, the TV, the computer and the mobile device will organically supplement each other", – Evgeny Maksimenko, the director of a division of NVision Group of work with MTS noted.
"The principle of a multiekrannost and cloud availability of content will allow our subscribers to synchronize TV viewing on different devices: using difficult technical solution we will provide to clients simple access to convenient consumption of TV-services where they were and what device would not be used – the traditional TV-receiver or the modern tablet, the smartphone or the computer. And in the long term MTS can integrate all TV-services in one tariff plan, having combined in a packet with other offers – broadband access, mobile communication, telephony, – the director of MTS of purchase management Valery Shorzhin told. – The uniform TV-product will allow MTS to increase number of subscribers of paid TV and to increase the level of use of additional services among subscribers of mobile communication. Besides, MTS will be able to cut down to 30% expenses on acquisition of content due to wholesale purchases within several distribution channels".
