Product
Developers: Utilex
Last Release Date: 2016
Technology: UPS - Uninterruptible power supply units

Content

Sunflower is autonomous system of power supply for the round-the-clock regular power supply of the advertizing structures: including pillar, lightboxes, prizmatron and city boards (scrollers).

On March 4, 2014 the engineering division of Utilex company - Utilex Labs, announced start of a new product in Sunflower line.

Description

Use of a system helps the companies, when advertizing, to reduce the level of dependence on external power sources.

By means of the built-in 250 W solar panel the Sunflower AEC system lights the advertizing structures located in the places remote from transmission lines (including, on country routes).

Scope of Sunflower UPS - dynamic advertizing objects (city boards, prizmatrona) which power sources are limited on time in energy supply (for example, are connected with city lighting). The system equipped with the rechargeable battery of 12 volts and with a capacity up to 65 And / hour is capable to provide the round-the-clock electricity feed-in on such constructions and to ensure them smooth operation.

Structure of the Sunflower UPS complex

  • The external temperature-controlled body with a class of protection IP55 dimensions of 500*500*300 mm.
  • Rechargeable battery of 12 volts and with a capacity up to 100 And / hour. Service life not less than 12 years or not less than 600 cycles of a charge discharge at 100% discharge.
  • The automatic system of a charge providing charge current not less than 10 And.
  • The inverter for ensuring the alternating voltage of 220 V. Or
  • DC/DC the transformer on required constant voltage.

Structure of the AES Sunflower complex

  • 250 W solar panel.
  • The rechargeable battery to 100 A/h (AGM or LiFePO4). LiFePO4 battery service life – not less than 15 years or not less than 3000 cycles of a charge discharge at 100% discharge.
  • Controller of a charge of MPPT.
  • DC/DC the transformer on required voltage output.
  • LED lamp up to 80 W (optionally).

Ivan Kolyada, director R&D "Utilex": "To us it is important that each our new product was useful, and provided requirements of many companies. Before starting creation of this solution, we fixedly studied specifics of work of the advertizing structures and revealed basic needs of the companies in whose property there are such objects. As a result there was Sunflower - a product which gives to the companies owning the advertizing structures, and advertizing agencies have more than freedom in the choice of the platform for placement of an object, guarantees their smooth operation, allows to save time, forces and means on connection and approval of power supply and excludes a factor of the growing rates for electricity from operating costs".

2016: "Utilex" was adapted by the autonomous power Sunflower complex for work in extreme conditions of deserts

The Utilex company – the Russian developer of modular data processing centers and infrastructure solutions – announced at the beginning of 2016 improvement of the autonomous power Sunflower complex. Now the solution is capable to work in climatic conditions of deserts, maintaining dust storms and extremely high temperatures (to 80 Celsius degrees).

The autonomous power Sunflower complex is intended for electricity supply of different objects in hardly accessible areas without connectivity to the power supply network. The initial Sunflower model was developed for application in the Russian conditions. Therefore the operation possibility at extremely low temperatures which are characteristic of the Russian North was one of key requirements to Sunflower.

However needs of the new Customer set other task – to provide functioning of a system in extremely hot conditions of the Middle East for Utilex developers.

To adapt Sunflower to new requirements, specialists of "Utilex" implemented several improvements:

  • The new solar batteries capable to work to +80os. The system of cleaning of solar batteries of dust and sand provides high efficiency regardless of weather conditions;
  • Equipment by nickel cadmium accumulators. They work with the broad temperature range and are charged even at change of current in charging depending on existence of the sun (unlike lead).

The solution represents the certified 20-foot heat-insulated ISO container which can be transported by all means of transport. All equipment (the system of placement of the equipment, solar panels, a frame under panels, rechargeable batteries, chargers, controllers and so forth) in a transport status is placed in a container.

In working order the container is separated by a partition with a door into two zones: a zone under placement of the equipment and a zone for accumulators. The input in a container is performed through a compartment with the equipment. Over it the thermal veil for protection against hit of dust when opening a door is placed.

The container is heat-insulated for reduction of a temperature difference and sheathed by the metal sheet for ensuring fire safety and maintenance of purity from within.

The system of generation of the electric power is implemented based on solar batteries which at installation of the solution on site are placed on a steel frame outside (directly on a container or about it).

The storage system of the electric power is constructed based on nickel cadmium accumulators. A power supply of the equipment comes directly via the transformer from solar batteries in solar time or from accumulators in the absence of the sun.

Independent ventilation of both zones is provided in the solution. For elimination of overheating own conditioner which operation is based on Peltier's effect is provided in each compartment.
