The Russian technologies for fight against thieves of fuel reached Africa

In March, 2014 the Russian producer of monitoring systems and management of transport based on satellite Omnicomm GLONASS/GPS technologies announced equipment project completion by fuel level sensors of the diesel generators providing with the electric power base stations of mobile operators in Uganda.

The project was implemented together with the partner of Omnicomm in Africa -Galooli Group which in east part of this continent implements the global project on remote monitoring of base stations of cellular operators.

Within the project Omnicomm LLS 20160 fuel level sensors equipped more than 2 thousand diesel generators installed on remote base stations of mobile communication in Uganda. According to representatives of Omnicomm, as a result of implementation of this equipment costs on providing generators with fuel were reduced by 30-40%, and the general economy made more than $5 million a year.

Economy is reached because on the basis of data from sensors clients can obtain exact information on regulations of consumption and the current level of fuel and stop its drainings and theft and also to set real standards of an expense and to considerably reduce purchase costs of the fuels and lubricants (FL), explain in the company. Based on own experience of implementation of similar sensors in Russia and in other countries, in Omnicomm told TAdviser that theft of fuel is characteristic not only of the countries of "the third world": "Experience of the company shows what even in the countries with the high level of life in the absence of control systems unfair drivers is abducted from 20% of the selected fuel in freight transportation up to 80% during the operation of the construction equipment".

In Omnicomm also gave TAdviser examples of economy on fuel in the large Russian companies where earlier were its equipment is installed. So, in Transneft of costs for fuel and lubricants were reduced by 10-12%, and in Norilsk Nickel decrease in fuel consumption by 20% was reached. At the same time in the latter case during the first month of operation of a control system of fuel consumption economy made 13 million rubles that completely covered expenses on its installation, tell in Omnicomm.

Based on system implementation in large international carrier of dangerous and combined loads of Servoservice company, in turn, economy of fuel made 20-25%, and in the Avtostroypodjem company which is engaged in lease of special equipment in the construction market, according to the results of system implementation of Omnicomm of costs for fuel and lubricants were reduced by 30%.

Speaking about the one who most often steals fuel, Omnicomm notes that, first, drivers of the equipment and also drivers of fuel trucks or the staff of gas station can merge it.

"Besides, when fuel consumption in the company is not controlled and, for example, standards of consumption are overestimated, there is an opportunity for different frauds with calculation of fuel and selection of expenses on it. Sometimes not only drivers, but also management - for example, accounting, and even top management of the company are involved in it", - add to Omnicomm.
