Oracle Mobile Security Suite is a complex of programs for ensuring secure access to critical corporate applications and confidential data from mobile devices.

On March 12, 2014 the Oracle corporation submitted Oracle Mobile Security Suite.

Description

The new complex in combination with solutions for management of identification data and access (Identity and Access Management) provides the integrated Oracle platform, using which the organizations desktop PCs and notebooks can manage access to all applications by means of devices of any types, including mobile gadgets. The solution answers modern concepts of COPE (the device belongs to the company, it is used personally by the employee, including for personal reasons) or BYOD (the device belongs to the employee, it is used by it personally, including in the working purposes).

In Oracle Mobile Security Suite the approach focused on applications and users which helps IT service effectively is used and to manage safely access.

The complex provides a safe working environment by means of which the companies divide into categories and protect corporate applications and data, provide observance of security policies and at the same time save confidentiality of personal content and applications of the user on the same client device. Along with separation of corporate and personal information, a working environment provides the solution for mobile applications, with the mechanism of single registration (SSO), tunnel network connection for each protected application, function of enciphering of the stored data, the built-in integration with Microsoft Active Directory for the organization of access to the general file resources, the directory of corporate applications and ability to integrate into a working environment (i.e. containerization) standard (COTS) or custom applications.

The new complex along with availability, in the form of the separate autonomous solution, is closely integrated with a complex of the products Oracle Mobile Suite for development, integration and deployment of applications.

Specific Features

Among the main opportunities of Oracle Mobile Security Suite – management of mobile security. Among management tools and control:

• the Geo-Fencing mode for access restriction or functionality depending on location;
• management of policies of usage of applications, including restriction of functions of copying/insert/printing for prevention of date leak;
• the safe network tunnels for each application providing data protection without use of VPN connections through virtual private networks at the level of the devices discharging their batteries;
• enciphering of local data with support of a possibility of remote removal of corporate information and applications from the personal device of the employee at his dismissal.

Structure of a complex

Oracle Mobile Security Suite contains:

• client of e-mail,
• the protected browser,
• program for file management (file manager),
• White Pages application (phonebook, directory of the network addresses, etc.),
• editor of documents,
• the directory of mobile applications which can serve as "app store".

Using the built-in mechanism of single registration (SSO) and a possibility of application of the connected authentication modules with support of a public key infrastructure (PKI) and Kerberos technology, users once (during one session) enter the password to the corporate account and get access to all authorized, for the profile, to applications, the websites or files open for sharing in the protected working environment of the enterprise.

The new complex gives to the organizations the chance to use a full range of functions of the solution Oracle Identity & Access Management, including identification of fraud (Fraud Detection), management, control and ensuring compliance with legislative arrangements (Governance & Compliance) and management of lifecycle of the user (User Life-Cycle Management), on mobile devices within support of the popular concept of BYOD.
