Saturn-Gas Turbines completes upgrade of the portal

On April 1, 2014 the COMPAREX company announced the final of the project of upgrade of a corporate portal of JSC Saturn-Gas Turbines on the Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 platform.

Project Tasks

In 2012 specialists of COMPAREX company carried out implementation to business processes of Saturn-Gas Turbines company of a system of a corporate portal on the basis of Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. For usage time of the portal the staff of the company estimated advantages of the solution. 1.5 thousand users in the company got the managed secure access to information resources of the portal in corporate network and beyond its limits.

Nevertheless, in use it became clear - completions which will make the portal more convenient for users are necessary.

The IT company management of Saturn-Gas Turbines planned the purposes for achievement of results of upgrade.

In functionality of the available portal it was necessary to implement a possibility of data recovery of the portal after failure, to facilitate connection of external users to the portal and its resources from the Internet, to make possible aggregation of content in collections of the websites of divisions, to receive recommendations about elimination of the errors connected with opening of files on the portal.

Project Progress

Based on requirements and the customer's wishes, specialists of COMPAREX suggested to perform installation and setup of updates of a system on the basis of Share Point 2010. For achievement of effective objectives technical specialists executed updates on the portal:

• recovered backup,
• moved web applications to the zone ru,
• conducted a research of a possibility of reduction of length of names and reduction of length of URL,
• made recommendations about reduction of length of ways,
• unrolled CQWP on the web application of TEAM.

Project Results

The implemented project the Saturn-Gas Turbines company received the resource of storage of corporate information answering to wishes of employees, assisting growth of efficiency of activity and quality of information support of employees of the company, less labor-consuming in support in interaction with users.
