"Tactical missile armament" starts new DPC

On April 1, 2014 the Microtest company announced project completion of delivery of the JSC Tactical Missiles Weapons Corporation of new DPC on the basis of architecture of FlexPod.

Project Tasks

At the enterprises of holding the systems of SAP to which high requirements regarding smooth operation and security of data are imposed function. Are based on work of these systems: resource management of the enterprise, electronic document management system and supply management of products.

Infrastructure of data storage of the company was created due to connection of diverse disk arrays and servers of data processing. However in process of growth data volume, generated by the applications providing business functioning began to grow at the advancing rates. The operating data processing infrastructure did not meet requirements of Corporation for scaling options, level of data protection and reliability any more. For ensuring reliable work of business processes, the management made the decision on creation of new DPC and the server hardware-software complex (SHSC) for ensuring continuous operation of applications.

Main requirements to the contractor: high quality of the provided services, qualified specialists, reputation of the reliable partner and experience of implementation of difficult technical solutions. Microtest conformed to these requirements.

Project Progress

Specialists "Microtest" analyzed requirements of Corporation to new infrastructure and made the decision - to build SAPK on the basis of reference architecture FlexPod from the companies NetApp and Cisco Systems.

As a result of implementation of a new hardware-software complex the Corporation received reliable infrastructure for IT applications and services which can be expanded and to adapt flexibly to any requirements of business. Thanks to the implemented SAPK applications can function on the systems of the centralized reliable complex which is possible for scaling and upgrading further without interruption of service.

Project Results

The mounted storage system allows data storage of different applications, environments of virtualization and operating systems using those technologies of access which are most convenient for them, at the same time guarantees necessary performance. There was a possibility of fast redistribution of resources between applications that allows to avoid purchases of excess resources for different compensation of peak loads. Creation of reserve data center for ensuring smooth operation of services is in the future planned. Business processes are protected by means of replication of data and integration with cluster software of transfer of services between DPC.

Nikolay Vasilyev, the chief of the Center of Information Technologies of CIT-55 of the JSC Tactical Missiles Weapons Corporation, noted: "As a result we received reliable infrastructure for our corporate IT applications and services which can be expanded and to adapt flexibly to our requirements. From separate solutions we passed to use of the centralized reliable complex which should not be rebuilt further but only to expand".
