2017: OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition

On November 1, 2016 the Bentley company announced release of the upgraded system of road design OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition, with support of methodology of BIM.

Solutions for design of the general plan and roads were a part of OpenRoads Designer Connect Edition: InRoads, GEOPAK, MX and PowerCivil.

In the 3D application - design of plans, profiles and transverse sections it is connected to three-dimensional parametrical modeling. The program can use at all stages of works, including the analysis geodetic and geotechnical data, underground services, work with a relief, a drainage and another. Support of grids of reality, photos, clouds of points and other types of geospatial data allows to work with real conditions for all lifecycle of design and construction.

OpenRoads CONNECT Edition is a result of three decades of work in the industry where we take the leading position and we have experience of implementation of thousands of road projects worldwide. We consciously save succession and compatibility with GEOPAK, InRoads and MX, but support of BIM in OpenRoads Designer CONNECTEdition is a serious advantage to us and, first of all, our users.

Basic functions of OpenRoads Designer:

  • Progressive design at the feasibility statement. Users can develop the conceptual projects created using OpenRoads ConceptStation, saving all data. And also to use information on a surrounding context and to create inzhenerno the exact presentations;
  • Contextual design. The detailed design is executed on the basis of the components displaying a design on plans in profiles, sections and 3D models. Change of one of them changes also others;
  • Multidisciplinary support. Users can switch display modes, for example, from design of roads of Road Design to design of underground networks Subsurface Utility;
  • Tools for modeling of reality. The program helps to enter and edit all types of data of modeling of reality and also to obtain information on the Earth's surface from grids of reality and LiDAR and to enter data of clouds of points and the photo;
  • Geotechnical tools. Users can be connected to the geotechnical gINT databases for planning of profiling and strengthening of the bases. The structure of soil can be simulated on the basis of reports of well-drilling and to use for road and drainage profiles, sections and plans;
  • Underground services. There is a big directory of functional parts of communications and profiles of the sewerage for modeling of engineering networks. Models of sewerages can be optimized taking into account water flows, using the integrated tools of the analysis of the movement of liquids;
  • Broad set of documentation. An expanded set of the project documentation from traditional plans to digital construction models for automated management of machines, including for earthwork, alignment, blockage of piles and a paving;
  • Dynamic creation of plans. Settings and summaries of model are dynamically updated therefore work on the plan is not limited on time. Types remain with the built-in rules of display and indexing of sheets that allows to pass easily from model to drawings. Relevant drawings can be generated automatically at any time;
  • Realistic visualization. OpenRoads Designer works with Bentley LumenRT for receiving visualization of cinema quality. Here it is possible to represent the nature and climate, plants and also to simulate traffic flows using VISSIM.

The projects created in OpenRoads Designer can be browsed with the help of OpenRoads Navigator on mobile devices. OpenRoads Navigator allows to visualize and browse three-dimensional projects, information on the status of works.

The project companies, civil engineering firms use the integrated environment of data OpenRoads, by means of ProjectWise for opening, storage, data exchange of the project and models. OpenRoads uses the Center of components of the integrated environment of data to facilitate the fast and approved modeling within each project, for each owner or the contractor.
