On April 23, 2014 the Softline company announced the project of transfer of an IT environment of the Internet and marketing agency BDBD to cloud services of Google Apps for Business.
Project Tasks
In March, 2013 the management of BDBD made the decision on transfer of a part of IT infrastructure in "cloud" services. The solution is caused by the high cost of service of own mail servers, support and software updates, the insufficient and not stable SLA level (Service Level Agreement). In the course of the solution of assigned tasks several widespread corporate cloud products were considered. Selected Google Apps for Business.
"We made the decision on transition to cloud services of Google Apps proceeding from ease of interaction with the partner companies, many of which at that time already used this product, - Alexey Amurtsev, the director of IT department of BDBD told. - Also for benefit of Google additional opportunities for application integration (the calendar, mail) in a corporate CRM system worked".
Project Progress
Maintenance of transition and technical support of the project were performed by Softline company.
By April 23, 2014 60 specialists are transferred to Google Apps. Employees actively use Gmail, the calendar and Google Drive. The last is especially convenient for creation of documents, storage and joint work with them.
Project Results
E-mail is connected to corporate CRM by means of what all correspondence is attached directly to cards of clients. This option made customer interaction more effective as through CRM access to the calendar of Google and other Google services of Apps is provided to sales department.
By means of Google Apps the mobility of staff of the company who can work with all necessary documents significantly increased being out of corporate network and not being connected to VPN. The e-mail client Google and also all work files and documents are available on mobile devices on platforms Android iOS Microsoft.
It is solved problems of transfer of big files. Before transition to cloud services of Google the question of transfer by e-mail of letters with a volume document package was relevant. In the company restriction for volume of the sent letters - no more than 10 MB worked. Besides, when sending to clients of big files the mailbox which volume was also limited was quickly filled. Now the staff of BDBD spreads documents on Google Drive, and in the letter sends only the link.
Google services of Apps helped to provide business continuity during the work with mail and documents. Service helps to distribute evenly costs at increase in number of users or offices - without the need for the capital investments in IT infrastructure.
