History

2024: New DOSAAF chief appointed

In early February 2024, the Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy (DOSAAF) of Russia announced the appointment of Alexander Dvornikov as the new chairman of the organization. He replaced Alexander Kolmakov. The DOSAAF report says that Dvornikov's candidacy for the post of head of the company was adopted unanimously by the delegates of the VI Extraordinary Congress. 2009

Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of November 28, 2009 No. 973 "On the All-Russian Public and State Organization" Voluntary Society for Assistance to the Army, Aviation and Navy of Russia "and the extraordinary (transformative) 9th Congress of ROSTO (DOSAAF) - 1st Congress of DOSAAF of Russia, held December 17, 2013. He approved a new organizational and legal status and determined the strategic prospects for the further development of DOSAAF of the country as a public and state organization, on the basis of which it is planned to create a qualitatively new system of pre-conscription training for youth, including military-patriotic education, the development of mass military-applied, aviation and technical sports, training in military-accounting specialties.

1920: The Military Scientific Society was established

The first voluntary defense organization - the Military Scientific Society (VNO) - was created in 1920. She set as her task the development of military scientific problems and the widespread promotion of military knowledge among workers.
