Content

On April 29, 2014 it became known of project completion in printing house of a full stroke "Tver Factory of Printing" - system implementation of production planning of ORTEMS. The project is implemented together with TOPS Consulting company.

Project Tasks

For deduction of leader positions and further development of "TFP" constantly is engaged in upgrade of production and improvement of business processes. The implementation project of a system of production planning was initiated by the management of "TFP" for the guaranteed adherence to deadlines of shipment of finished goods to clients, rapid response to changes in client orders, increase in efficiency of planning process of production and decrease in influence of a human factor in the conditions of increase in production.

Alexey Esikov, the CEO of TFP LLC, told: "Our factory works at one of the most competitive segments of the polygraphic market where clients have huge choice of offers of capital and regional printing houses. Shipment is one of key factors of success in time. We are simply obliged to execute quickly and qualitatively orders, quickly to react to changes, to be flexible and adaptive. Find balance between shipment in time and loading of the printing centers - a difficult optimization task. For this reason planning in Excel ceased to satisfy us, we needed more advanced and effective system. ORTEMS was ideal option".

Project Progress

During the project experts of TOPS Consulting jointly with specialists of "TFP" created the balanced production program, optimized it taking into account production process restrictions, made the decision on entering of some changes into processes of formation of orders and production planning. Specialists of TOPS Consulting implemented integration of ORTEMS with a 1C system existing in the company, configured a feedback on adjustment of the production schedule upon production of orders and provided visualization of placement of production orders on the equipment.

Project Results

Achievements of the project:

  • Reduction of number of readjustments. Loading of "bottleneck" of all production process – printing machines is optimized. It was succeeded to achieve their maximum loading due to priority of primary cutting in relation to undercutting of ready elements and accounting of four parameters (a format, paint, varnish type, paper type) for optimization of readjustments.
  • Fixing of dates of start of the first transactions. The first transactions of the order - production of plates and cutting of paper - are fixed by date of availability of files and date of arrival of paper. It increased efficiency of use of pair of equipment of preparation of printing of CTP - cutting and loadings of printing machines.
  • Providing minimum time of production of the client order. A system allows to find balance between the maximum speed of order fulfillment and ensuring the maximum loading of the printing centers using complex criteria of optimization.
  • Process of accomplishment of the client order became structured and transparent. The client receives reasonable planned date of shipment of the order which is maintained with high probability.
