ArcGIS Pro

The software solution ArcGIS Pro is professional GIS tool which is distinguished by high performance, first of all, – due to 64-bit architecture and multithreading. According to the developer, ArcGIS Pro is intended, first of all, for professional users of ArcGIS. Experts note that in the new product Esri the innovation approach to visualization, editing and the analysis of both local data, and content placed in ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS is implemented. At this ArcGIS Pro allows to work not only in two-dimensional, but also in three-dimensional space and also to publish results in all available options: in the form of layers, as web services, 3D - web scenes and web cards.

The first that will be noticed by users at acquaintance to ArcGIS Pro - it is the new intuitive "tape" interface. It will help to find quickly those tools and settings which are necessary at this moment. Let's pay special attention on one of key features of ArcGIS Pro – the new tools which are built in a product which use opens revolutionary opportunities for work with 3D. So, now it is not necessary to use separate applications and special data any more; ArcGIS Pro allows to work at the same time in 2D and 3D, whether it be just display, the analysis or editing, – on one screen and in the single interface.

In general ArcGIS Pro are hundreds of instruments of geoprocessing, a possibility of creation of models in ModelBuilder and optimization of workflow using scripts in the Python language. These powerful tools on work with raster and lidarny data are irreplaceable for effective editing and fast design of high-quality cards.

2014

On May 23, 2014 the Esri company announced the beginning of beta testing of the product ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS Pro is the new application available as a part of ArcGIS for Desktop in version 10.3. This application - a new word in issues of visualization, editing and analysis using the given desktop application, content of ArcGIS Online or Portal for ArcGIS organization. Use of ArcGIS Pro will help to create data as in usual two-dimensional, and three-dimensional space, to publish them in all available options: layers, the card, services, 3D - web scenes and web cards. This 64-bit, multithreaded application with the modern interface for the Windows platform.

To become the owner of a distribution kit and to take part in ArcGIS Pro beta testing, the account of a subscription ArcGIS Online for the organizations received on technical support is required.

The release of the working version of ArcGIS Pro as a part of ArcGIS for Desktop 10.3 is expected in the second half of 2014.

In February, 2015 the first version of ArcGIS Pro is announced.

2015: There was a release of the version of ArcGIS Pro 1.1

On August 13, 2015 the Esri CIS company announced a release of the version of the GIS product ArcGIS Pro 1.1.

In the version of ArcGIS Pro 1.1 a number of the innovation functions is created. Among them:

• SDK for .NET for setup and expansion of functionality ArcGIS Pro. The distribution kit, documentation and a selection of examples of tools are available on the website ArcGIS Pro: pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/sdk/;

• the Runner of the Range (Rangeslider) tool similar to the Runner of time (Timeslider), but working with any numerical attributes. Fast and convenient setup of data mapping is intended, first of all, for deeper studying of information;

• the publication 3D - scenes with multipatches. Now it is possible to create three-dimensional scenes with difficult detailed models and to place them on the portal, and for viewing rather normal browser (the publication requires Portal for ArcGIS 10.3.1);

• configuration. The functions making process of a design of cards easier more conveniently (for example, guide lines and a possibility of short circuit on them, interactive indicators of an extent (the polygon showing a circuit of the card of the user on the survey map)), etc.;

• direct work with tables of Excel and other improvements of geoprocessing, work with a raster, modules 3D Analyst, Workflow Manager, Network Analyst.
