Content

On June 18, 2014 the Cisco company announced implementation in Obolon corporation of a number of solutions Cisco promoting implementation of the concept of BYOD. The project was executed by the company Ink.

Project Tasks

Staff of corporation began to use even more often for work the personal tablets, smartphones and notebooks.

IT department of Obolon was faced the need, on the one hand, to provide mobile employees with access to corporate information (including confidential), and with another — to control security perimeter. Therefore ensuring the protected wireless access to corporate network became the main objective set for integrator of the project, the company Ink.

The management aimed to create more comfortable conditions for mobile employees and to increase productivity of their work.

Project Progress

Solving a problem specialists of the company integrator Ink unrolled wireless networks for connection of devices at office, installed switches of a local network, implemented services of automatic adding of new devices and implementation the politician of access and also a uniform panel of administration for management of networks and identification of devices.

Project Results

As a result of project implementation the Obolon corporation had a number of new opportunities for work in network:

  • automation of adding of new devices in network,
  • monitoring and blocking of any device getting access to network
  • change of access rights of each user to resources, depending on his service duties, type of the used device and a method of connection,
  • remote assessment of a status of stationary PCs.

At the same time the security level of IT infrastructure of the enterprise is raised, operations on service of network are optimized.

"Today at design and creation of corporate networks more and more attention is paid to a connectivity of various personal devices. At the same time networks should provide sufficient performance at simultaneous use of interactive multimedia applications by a large number of users. Wireless networks of a corporate class of Cisco have all parameters, necessary for business communications: the highest performance, wide choice of services and scalability" — Oleg Bodnar, the chief representative of Cisco in Ukraine noted.

The Cisco Identity Services Engine platform intended for access control on a basis the politician with support of identification of devices and users became a key component of the project. For management of wired and wireless networks the Cisco Prime Infrastructure system which simplified management and monitoring of network and increased efficiency of operation of IT infrastructure of the company was selected.

For creation of a wireless network of data transmission access points of Cisco of a corporate class with support of CleanAir, ClientLink and VideoStream technologies are selected. For protection of a wireless network used Cisco Adaptive Wireless Intrusion Prevention System technology on the Mobility Services Engine platform. Now IT specialists of Obolon corporation have at the order an intrusion prevention system, monitoring, the notification and classification of threats of a wireless network and also ample opportunities on blocking of unauthorized access points.

The command of the company Ink successfully implemented the concept of BYOD for Obolon corporation, having connected a number of subsystems among themselves and having given great opportunities for expansion of a system in terms of both quantitative, and functional characteristics".
