Akopov Alexander Zavenovich
Biography
From 1974 to 1979 studied at the Moscow construction institute (MISI are nowadays MGSU) where played in a command of KVN.
Since 1979 worked in civil engineering as the master, the foreman.
In 1982 came to a postgraduate study of MISI and wrote the thesis on design automation systems. Taught at department of architecture. Organized student's theater "SNIP", began to script for programs of the Central television Cheerful children and KVN.
In 1986 it is invited in the Youth editorial office of the Central television where till 1990 worked as the editor-in-chief (producer) of the program of KVN.
In 1988 created Igrotekhnika company – one of the first non-state companies which were engaged in production of television programs and promotional materials. Then, together with Yu. Zapol, Mikhail Lesin, etc., became one of founders of Video International company.
In 1992 worked at PBS TV channel (USA) as the responsible producer of the special project.
From 1994 to 1996 – the associate director of TV-Novosti TV company (RIA Novosti). Organized and headed Business Russia information channel (RTR).
Since 1996 – the director of production center, then – the chief producer and the CEO of Russia TV channel (RTR), the vice-chairman of All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK).
In 2002 creates and heads Amedia company which part the production and distributor companies, broadcasting channels and also the studio complex constructed by the company in Moscow are.
Since 2005 a partner in the company is the Access Industries industrial financial group of Leonard Blavatnik.
In the summer of 2015 the Founder of Amedia group Alexander Akopov leaves the list of its shareholders and leaves the president's post, the Vedomosti newspaper with reference to the representative of the organization and Akopov reports. Its actions will pass to the businessman Leonard Blavatnik.
Alexander Akopov opened a workshop in "Producing in cinema and television" at the All-Russian state institute of cinematography of S.A. Gerasimov (VGIK).
Alexander Akopov is the author of a special course of "A basis of skill of the producer", the master of a rate the VGIK of Gerasimov, the associate professor of scenario skill and art criticism of Institute of advanced training of employees of television and broadcasting (nowadays – Academy of the media industry).
Alexander Akopov became one of initiators of creation of Association of producers of cinema and television. It is elected the Chairman of the board of Association of producers of cinema and television.
Alexander Akopov implemented more than 100 projects among which there are series "Simple Truth", "March Turkish", "Law", "Crew", "Idiot", "Poor Nastya", "My Great Nurse", "Beauty is not happiness", "Who in the House the Owner?", "Tatiana Day", "Montekristo", "General Therapy", "The Closed School" and many others.
Awards
Alexander Akopov's projects were given numerous awards of the Russian academy of television of TEFI, including four times – in The Best Producer nomination. At the International Film Festival in San Sebastian (2002) of a prize for the best scenario and the best camerawork the feature film "Lover" is awarded (cut. V. Todorovsky).
It is mentioned by a medal of the Order "For Merit to the Fatherland" of the 2nd degree (2003).
