VTB 24 will implement the IT system for piracy prevention

In 2014 VTB 24 is going to implement a management system for program assets, follows from the project documentation published at the beginning of August. The purposes of implementation is decrease in the legal risk connected with violation of license compliance when using the software and also increase in efficiency of ownership of program assets.

The created system should cover the program assets which are purchased and used at head office of bank in Moscow. According to VTB 24, at the time of the beginning of the project in bank about 560 agreements and supplementary agreements to them on which acquisition of program assets and their support is performed or performed are registered.

A system will cover software, installed on 8640 PCs, 2000 servers working running Windows OS and about 500 servers based on xNIX OS.

As the main source of data on software set on the PC and servers, a system should use the data collected from MS SCCM. If the PC or the server cannot be inventoried by means of MS SCCM, the possibility of inventory by means of the created system, said in the project documentation should be provided.

In technical requirements to a system it is specified that during its creation it is necessary to use products of HP Asset Manager, HP Connect-IT and HP Universal Discovery.

A system should have the centralized architecture providing the uniform data warehouse with the accessibility to them with separation of powers according to a role model.

Among functions which the system created in VTB 24 - recognition of software products by data about structure of the files which are on the PC and servers and normalization of data on the used products on version control and releases, accounting of agreements and their basic provisions, regular monitoring of license compliance according to licensing models, etc. should have.
