Orgenergogaz develops "cloud" structure of DBaaS

On August 28, 2014 it became known of use DBMS Oracle by the company Orgenergogaz for creation of a cloud solution of Database as a Service (DBaaS) in development process and supports of the information system of technical condition (ISTC) of the company "Infotech".

Project Tasks

Orgenergogaz develops and supports the information system of technical condition (ISTC) "Infotech", intended for control of technical condition of objects of the Unified gas supply system. "Infotech" it is constructed on DBMS Oracle, stores and processes large volumes of data therefore in for development and support of a system are used several tens copies of an industrial system. Administration of such infrastructure required very essential costs as deployment and testing was held manually.

For increase in efficiency of development process and speed to developments set the task of operational creation of clones industrial DBMS Oracle Database for 50 developers and 80 testers of the company.

Project Progress

Technical solution on the organization of a private cloud for DBMS (DBaaS) was prepared by a project team as a part of which specialists Orgenergogaz and Oracle Consulting. At the heart of the solution - the products Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c and Oracle Cloud Management Pack providing centralized operation with process of cloning of DBMS.

As hardware two optimized Oracle Database Appliance complexes as the primary and standby server for the industrial database and the complex for data storage of Oracle ZFS Appliance allowing to create quickly DBMS clones using the mechanism of "pictures" of the file system are selected.

Solving problems Orgenergogaz the cloud service, the called "net DBaaS" unifying OS and the version of DBMS facilitating management increasing efficiency of use of the equipment is implemented. Copies of Oracle DBMS work at a bullet of physical computers with the single operating system.

During creation of a system integration of Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c with a third-party hypervisor of a system of virtualization and DWH of Oracle ZFS Appliance is executed that allowed to use the management console of Oracle Enterpise Manager as a uniform point of management of all infrastructure of development of ISTS "Infotech".

Project Results

As of August 28, 2014 a full-function system is implemented in trial operation. Development of a system is planned: transition to the next version of Oracle Enterprise Manager and implementation of a failsafe configuration for developers by connection of standby system of data storage of Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance.
