IVS of administration Gazprom left Novell Netware

The LANIT was completed in September, 2014 by the project on migration of service of network files and printing from the Novell platform on Microsoft of the information network (IN) of Administration of JSC Gazprom. Project implementation, passed under the direction of JSC Gazprom avtomatizatsiya - the main system integrator JSC Gazprom at the time of the beginning of the project, increased reliability and controllability of IT infrastructure of the company.

Need of upgrade of service of file access and the service of network printing functioning on the Novell NetWare platform was caused by standardization of the user environment and IT systems and also transition to new versions of Windows OS.

During the project specialists of department of corporate infrastructure of department of network integration of LANIT developed and implemented the solution on upgrade of the hardware-software platform of service of file access and service of network printing on several platforms of the customer and also the solution on migration of file resources and printers on the new Windows Server platform.

The solution on migration of resources was developed taking into account the impact of process of migration on all users of information systems therefore the most part of transactions was carried out jointly with the customer's specialists. Thanks to expanded use of the automation equipment, works on transfer of resources were carried out to the planned terms without interruption of operability of services. The total quantity of the automated jobs made 9500, network printers - 1030, the transferred data - over 10 TB.

Project implementation increased performance, scalability and fault tolerance of service of file access and service of network printing, ensured centralization of management and data security.

As amount of data did not allow to organize simultaneous carry, the technique of transfer of file data on types of users for which all process of migration and upgrade of an information system took place was developed "is transparent".
