Center of Application Studies of Computer Networks (CASCN)

The Center of Application Studies of Computer Networks (CASCN) is the research project on creation of technologies and products for computer networks of new generation in Russia. Resident of an IT cluster of the innovation Skolkovo Foundation. Tasks of laboratory — reconstruction of application studies in the field of Internet technologies and computer networks in Russia and also development and studying of the most perspective technologies of computer networks of new generation.

The priority technology in which TsPIKS is engaged today is called the Program Configured Networks (ang. Software defined network).

TSPIKS:

• Competence center in the field of PKS in the Russian Federation
• "growth point" for PKS-researches in the Russian Federation
• support of a transfer of PKS-technologies in the Russian Federation
• training of qualified personnel for PKS-research and development
• national pilot zone for research and development in the field of PKS

In addition to researches, TsPIKS is engaged in demonstration and check of efficiency of new technologies on tasks of the industry and business.

Partners of the project: Skolkovo Foundation, Intel, EMC, JSC Rostelecom, JSC Sberbank.

Tasks of the Center – reconstruction of application studies in the field of Internet technologies and computer networks in Russia and also development and studying of the most perspective technologies of computer networks of new generation.

• Information Centric Networks is a new paradigm of the Internet;
• Cloud computing in the heterogeneous environment of DPCs;
• Management of QOS in the computer networks of new generation;
• Security in the computer networks of new generation;
• SDN for Internet of Things.
