On October 27, 2014 the IBS group announced the project of migration of a part of a corporate information system of SAP of the SP Glass Group. Migration is carried out from the global system [[|Pilkington (NSG Group)|of the Pilkington company]] placed in Germany on "cloud" capacities in own data-center of IBS.

Project Tasks

The company use solutions SAP for support of management, including SAP ERP SAP BI, an integration bus of SAP PI. Till 2014 the Russian users worked in the single global system located in Germany, support of a system was performed in the same place. In 2014 before the company there was a task - to select a part of the system automating production and management in the Russian division in separate installation in the territory of Russia.

Project implementation was charged by IBS.

Project Progress

Preparation for the project of migration took specialists of IBS and their colleagues from the European office of NSG Group company nearly three months.

Using SAP SLO experts separated, in an initial system, and prepared for migration of setup and data of activity [[|Pilkington (NSG Group)]] in Russia. In parallel with it, on resources IBS unrolled a new system. Then executed two test migrations during which representatives of the company checked integrity of a system in the course of migration. And only after it carried out migration of three systems integrated among themselves: SAP ERP SAP BI SAP PI, executed integration of the new systems into the existing IT landscape.

Between a work stop in a global system and the beginning of work in the postponed system there passed one day which fell on day off - users did not notice significant changes.

On completion of migration, the service center IBS undertook functions of "one window" according to the solution of all questions connected with support of a system in Russia – the SP Glass Group did not need to create for this purpose own service. IBS performs support of functionality of a system, responds to the requests of users, executes administration of SAP, DBMS, OS and other system server software, manages computing infrastructure. By means of placement on virtual resources, the SP Glass Group pays only the consumed volume of server capacities.

Project Results

Shigin Alexey, the financial manager of Pilkington Glass LLC, noted: "The corporate system based on SAP is the critical application as controls production. Failure at migration of a system could lead to catastrophic effects for our continued production. Professional approach to project organization which was offered by the IBS command, guaranteed to us what migration will take place without failures".
Dmitry Ivitsky, the director of the Service center IBS, emphasized: "One more striking example in our practice when the customer instead of creation from scratch of own infrastructure and a support service selects more effective solution – transfer completely of all functions of operation of IT systems to the professional outsourcer. It is guaranteed cheaper, and always the fastest and qualitative solution of all questions connected with functioning of SAP – beginning it from support of servers and finishing with setup and development of a system".
