Content

The Russian International Olympic University (RIOU) used Avaya technologies for a project startup for equipment of a complex of the university by the effective network platform.

RMOU was based on October 21, 2009 for training of new generation of sports managers. It is the first-ever Olympic University created in Sochi for staffing of the Russian and world sports industry.

Construction of a complex lasted three years. The complex consists of four 15 and 16 floor buildings surrounding the four-storeyed conference center. The conference center (1108 places) is a core of composition and creates uniform universal space for holding large actions. The educational administrative building of RMOU is a building to 15 floors and about 70 meters high includes educational audiences, the research center, library, a zone of public catering, the premises for independent work. Other three high-rise body is Brevis, Mercure and Pullman hotels respectively.

At design and construction of a complex special requirements to creation of network infrastructure and the organization of the modern communication environment for the faculty and students were considered. According to these requirements specialists of Beltel Ltd - one of the Russian system integrators, the golden partner of Avaya suggested the customer builder of an object of Yuniversiti Plaza LLC to use Avaya technologies for a project startup for equipment of a complex of the university by the effective network platform.

  • Organization of training of employees of the Customer.

Project implementation was broken into two stages according to the diagram construction readiness of an object. The first stage included the educational administrative building, the second stage – the hotel body and the conference center.

Multiservice data network

The solution of the data network (DN) is constructed on the reliable and productive equipment Avaya. The RMOU complex consists of several buildings therefore according to requirements of the Customer the architecture which allows to ensure functioning of SPD both for an object in general, and for each body independently with separate accesses to the network the Internet was developed. In SPD the Avaya Ethernet Routing Switch (ERS) switches are used.

The SPD important component is the Wi-fi network which was constructed in the K1 and K3-K5 body on the equipment Avaya WLAN 8100. Wi-fi Avaya WC8180 controllers, 2nd band access points with support of 3x3 MIMO Avaya AP8120 and a management system of Avaya WLAN Management System 8100 were for this purpose used. The equipment Wi-fi Avaya WLAN 8100 allows to build high-speed and adaptive network Wi-fi.

IP telephony

Technical solution of creation of network of telephone communication is implemented based on hardware and software systems which represent the distributed network architecture intended for provision of services of traditional telephone communication based on IP network and also for providing new communication services. Complexes have block architecture as which components the equipment rooms and software products, best in the classes, act. Support of open platforms and industry standards is one of strategic advantages of this solution.

The software of Avaya Communication Manager - uniform for all communication servers of Avaya, implementing problems of call processing and an expanded set of telephony functions. Avaya Communication Manager is a single platform for traditional analog, digital and IP communication devices in unified communication environment.

For ensuring the increased fault tolerance and fulfillment of requirements of the customer on network management on different objects separate automatic telephone exchanges were set. For needs of service of operation the DECT standard wireless system is used. This type of communication provides the maximum covering of necessary zones.
