HPE 3PAR Thin Deduplication

3PAR Thin Deduplication - program providing for DWH of a line of HP 3PAR of StoreServ Storage, SSD. It works at all new and existing HP 3PAR models of StoreServ 7000 and 10000.

On November 14, 2014 the HP corporation provided a new software version for DWH of HP 3PAR of StoreServ Storage.

As a part of a product the new features of 3PAR Adaptive Flash Cache and Express Write increasing performance of applications on any ^[1].

Deduplication stages

The special tool of 3PAR Flash Advisor will help the customer to understand how it quicker and with minimum flows / risks will allow to pass to a flash and what advantages it to it. The means of analytics and the reporting entering 3PAR Flash Advisor will allow the customer to define how to use storage on a basis a flash drives to increase efficiency, service quality and, of course, to reduce costs.

At upgrade of architecture of SAP there is an opportunity to use the new SAP HANA Tailored Datacenter Integration (TDI) configuration which supports DWH of HP 3PAR of StoreServ Storage, completely constructed on Flash-technologies.

The solution 3PAR Thin Deduplication is available to storage SSD volumes on all HP 3PAR models StoreServ Storage that allows to use a flash capacity most effectively. When planning transition to a flash technology, it is possible to use the free built-in HP solution of 3PAR Flash Advisor. This tool analyzes work of DWH of 3PAR StoreServ Storage, helping to plan investments more precisely.

As a part of 3PAR Flash Advisor components work:

• Inline Selective Deduplication is data analysis of applications and selective use of 3PAR Thin Deduplication technology for performance improvement;

• HP 3PAR of Dynamic Optimization releases the capacity before occupied with the data duplicated within a logical or physical volume without idle times and reduction in the rate of work;

• HP 3PAR of Adaptive Flash Cache analyzes a ratio of read operations and record in each volume and finds the volume, most suitable for this or that loading. Result – significant acceleration of data reading and performance improvement of applications;

• HP 3PAR of Adaptive Optimization helps to estimate volume the flash capacity necessary for support of "hot" data in storage with sub-LUN tiering technology.

Availability

• The Flash Advisor, Thin Deduplication, Adaptive Flash Cache and Express Writes HP 3PAR functions are available free of charge to users of HP 3PAR of Operating System Suite of version 3.2.1. MU1.

• Dynamic Optimization HP 3PAR — licensed by software, it is offered as a part of a packet of HP 3PAR of Data Optimization Software Suite.
