Rostransnadzor completes creation of the protected corporate IT environment

On November 25, 2014 the Asteros group announced end of the next stage of the project on creation of the single protected network of Rostransnadzor. The project is implemented within upgrade and expansion of information and telecommunication infrastructure of department. Project budget of 111.4 million rubles.

Project Tasks

According to the Decree of the Russian President of March 31, 2010 No. 403 and the order of the Government of the Russian Federation of July 30, 2010 No. 1285-r the comprehensive program within which during 2011 - 2013 it is necessary to carry out works on improvement and expansion of information and telecommunication infrastructure of Federal Service for the Oversight of Transport (Rostransnadzor) is approved. Based on an open competition the general contractor defines the Asteros group. Earlier the company already took part in the project of delivery of computer systems to this state institution.

Project Progress

At the beginning of 2011 the contractor carried out project researches in central office of Rostransnadzor, Territorial Departments of three federal districts – Southern, Northwest and Central. At this stage the set of the work documentation for project implementation in divisions of department from Murmansk to Rostov-on-Don is developed and approved.

The second stage of the project in Federal Service for the Oversight of Transport supposed to unroll basic information and telecommunication infrastructure for the organization of the protected closed information space integrating central office and Territorial Departments of the state supervision on transport. Solving this problem to specialists of Asteros creation of information and telecommunication infrastructure of Territorial Departments of Rostransnadzor in three Federal districts was necessary: CFD, Northwestern Federal District and Southern Federal District. Along with it, it was required to organize the regional data processing centers (RDPC) of level of federal districts. In total 22 geographically distributed objects which infrastructure more than 1 thousand employees of department use entered a circuit of the second stage of the project.

Project Results

Two months the command of Asteros worked on creation of infrastructure. It became a basis for creation of the unified protected infocommunication environment of Rostransnadzor meeting industry standards of information security and requirements of regulators. During the project for divisions of department computer systems which server part provides universal providing the main computing resources, scalability and fault tolerance are designed and put into operation. According to requirements of Rostransnadzor, all three RDPCs are equipped with security systems, access control, conditioning, the fire warning and regular power supply.

In the project are used:

• the solution for data centers from Hitachi HUS-VM,
• telecommunication equipment of Cisco,
• Cisco switches Catalyst
• Cisco 2921 routers with integrated by services for data protection, voice and video of messages.

For ensuring necessary level of information security selected products of the Russian company Infotecs.

In the project are used:

• software package of monitoring of the protected ViPNet StateWatcher networks,
• cryptogateway ViPNet Coordinator HW1000,
• software package for setup and management of the protected ViPNet Administrator network, in its structure ViPNet NCC for configuring and management of the virtual protected network and ViPNet KC&CA – for formation of encryption keys and personal keys of users.

"Creation of the general purpose of information space of department protected and isolated from telecommunication networks which integrated IT resources in the field of ensuring transport security at the level of central office and Territorial Departments became a core of the project on improvement of infocommunication infrastructure of Rostransnadzor, – Yury Mazurov, the sales director of Asteros told. – For this purpose it was required to lead to uniform standards of network of local divisions and to create necessary infrastructure in a geographically distributed object.
