Compulink Group created a backup system for "REDUKTOR-PM"

Customers: Aviation a reducer and transmission – Perm Motors (Reduktor-PM)

Perm; Mechanical engineering and instrument making

Product: Veritas Backup Exec (ранее Symantec Backup Exec)

Project date: 2014/03  - 2014/11

On November 27, 2014 the Compulink group announced a successful completion of the project on system implementation of backup and data recovery based on the solution Symantec BackupExec 2014 for JSC Aviatsionnye reduktora i transmissii − Perm Motors ("REDUKTOR – PM") which is included into Helicopters of Russia holding.

Choosing a Solution

The following requirements were imposed to the developed solution: ensuring system operation in mode 24х7, ensuring backup of databases without stopping services, the continuity of functioning of a system at failure of components of a hardware platform.

Project Progress

The centralized system of backup is implemented by specialists Compulink within a single platform of data management and provides protection of both business applications, and infrastructure services of the customer. The new solution gives a data recovery opportunity after logical or machine failure. Thanks to the automated functionality recovery happens quickly and to the minimum intervention from IT personnel. Besides, the implemented hardware and software system gives the chance to minimize volumes of the stored data due to use of deduplication of the stored backup copies. Accomplishment of data backup of the business and critical systems and infrastructure services is made without stopping applications in the automatic mode, or at the command of the administrator.

"The upgraded storage system created by us for "REDUKTOR-PM" in the future will allow not only to reduce housekeeping overheads due to automation of process of creation and recovery of backup copies and optimization of volume of the stored data on storage systems, but also it is easy to include in a backup circuit new objects", − Sergey Lebedev, the technical director of USP Compulink LLC told.
"The decision on upgrade of a backup system was made for ensuring reliable storage, fast data recovery and a possibility of easy scaling. Compulink developed a new system taking into account our requirements based on the existing equipment, carried out implementation and performed all necessary commissioning, having provided the modern reliable tool in our order", − Alexander Sushin, the deputy managing director for information technologies "Aviation a reducer and transmission − commented on Perm Motors".
