IBM MobileFirst for iOS is a class of business applications and support of cloud services for corporate users of iPhone and iPad.

2014: The first group of applications

On December 10, 2014 the companies Apple also IBM presented the first series of the solutions IBM MobileFirst for IOS developed taking into account examination IBM in the field of Big Data and analytics.

Cooperation of Apple and IBM helped to make available IBM MobileFirst for iOS to corporate customers in banking sector, retail trade, insurance, financial services, telecommunications, state bodies and airlines.

The IBM MobileFirst for IOS applications are focused on the help at arrangement of priorities in the different industries, they increase the level of corporate mobility, providing to employees full access to all corporate resources in any points of customer interaction, accelerating processes, making them easier, more safely.

Applications of MobileFirst for iOS are developed especially for iPhone and iPad and are closely connected with analytics and the main workflows. Applications can be configured according to requirements of any company — them easy to implement, manage them and to update using the cloud services of IBM created especially for devices on iOS with security accreditation at all levels of data, applications and devices.

As a part of the first packet:

  • Plan Flight (travel and transport) works with fuel which is the main item of expenditure of all airlines, allowing pilots to browse beforehand schedules of runs, plans of flights and command lists, to announce problems in flight to land services and to make more informed decisions on the available fuel reserves.

  • Passenger + (travel and transport) allows crews to provide unsurpassed quality of individual service of passengers during flight, including special offers, changes in a reservation and data on baggage.

  • Advise & Grow (banking services and financial markets) connects bankers to clients from the sphere of small business, providing safe authorization for access to client profiles and the competitive analysis and also collects analytical data for the individual recommendations and commission of safe transactions.

  • Trusted Advice (banking services and financial markets) allows advisers to browse client portfolios and to manage them, to receive a clear picture of the events taking into account data from the powerful tool of predictive analytics directly in kitchen at the client or in local coffee shop instead of a meeting at office, to fully test recommendations using difficult modeling tools and to make safe transactions.

  • Retention (insurance) provides to insurance agents access to profiles and stories of clients, including the analysis and risks assessment of deduction at reinsurance, intellectual notifications, reminders and the recommendations of the following steps and also simplification of key transactions, such as collecting of electronic signatures and design of insurance premiums.

  • Case Advice (public services) allows to solve a problem of loading and helps the staff of social services to make on the run key decisions for each family or a situation. The solution gives the chance to place priorities on rendering service on the basis of analytics in real time and to estimate risks based on predictive analysis.

  • Expert Tech (telecommunication) uses the built-in functions of IOS, including FaceTime, for easy access to technologies and services of a geolocation, allowing to optimize routes for excellent exit service, more effective solution of problems and also increase in productivity and customer satisfaction.

Cooperation of Apple and IBM provides to corporate clients the integrated functions of new level for corporate mobility:

  • Integration of the corporate and mobile platform: a combination of global examination of IBM in the field of consulting, design and integration of corporate systems — from analytics, workflows and cloud storage, before management of large parks of devices, security and integration. The expanded management system for devices includes the private directory of applications, security services of data and transactions and also a packet of office applications for all solutions IBM MobileFirst for IOS. All these services will be a part of local software solutions and also will be available on Bluemix — the platform of development of IBM in IBM Cloud Marketplace shop.

  • Delivery, activation and management: the optimized solution for delivery, implementation and the subsequent management of the park of devices during all life at the corporate level in combination with cloud computing for corporate security, device management and also data integration and processes.

  • The AppleCare for the Enterprise program will provide IT departments and end users with the round-the-clock access to the round-the-clock support service of Apple. Service on places for IBM.

2015: New IBM MobileFirst for IOS applications

On July 21, 2015 Apple announced 10 new mobile applications created within cooperation with IBM in the market of corporate solutions. The total quantity of joint products of IT giant grew to 32. They are created for different business needs — from management of business trips before customer service on places.

Apple and IBM provided a new series of corporate products for IOS-DEVICES

The following products intended for different mobile devices of Apple were a part of a packet of IBM MobileFirst for IOS:

  • Shift Track. The program allows heads to monitor the schedule of work of employees, to introduce amendments and to respond to the requests of workers on vacation in certain time.

  • Shift Sync. By means of this application the staff of the company browses the staff list and makes requests for vacation or for hospital.

  • Travel Plan. The application is created for planning of working trips and information storage about business trips. Besides, the program makes recommendations of armoring of hotel, plane tickets, etc.

  • Travel Track serves for display of a route of the employee who went to a business trip. The application will remind of important meetings or the begun landing to the airplane. The built-in analytical tools will help to find colleagues who are in a working trip in the same city and to contact them.

  • Loan Advise is the banking application intended for information display about the client who took the credit. Having pointed the camera at documents, the program will be able to recognize the client.

  • Loan Track. The program is created for the bank employees tracing credit agreements. She will point to the credit requests, most profitable to bank.

  • Expert Resolve. Helps technical specialists to perform service of the different systems (for example, ATMs) on places. It is possible to store information on the most frequent breakdowns of this or that equipment and methods of their elimination in the application. The phone camera can be used for communication with colleagues for joint solution.

  • Asset Inspect. The application, using mechanisms of predictive analytics, will help technical specialists to establish the reasons of a malfunction of the equipment and will make recommendations about repair.

  • Field Inspect. Having used this program, the state inspectors can keep necessary documentation in a digital form, use the gadget camera for identification of documents, etc.

  • Safe Site. Serves for the notification of workers that they approach dangerous places on production and other facilities. Messages are sent on smartphones of employees by means of iBeacon indicators.
