The Sheremetyevo Airport prepares the iOS application and Android

By the fall of 2015 Sheremetyevo Airport is going to start the application for the mobile devices working running OS Android and iOS. The application is intended for providing to users information on services and services in the territory of the airport, navigation at the airport, the schedule of runs, commercial offers of partners and also about actions in case of an emergency situation.

After run data entry – the direction, number and date – the application saves this information, develops a route and "conducts" the passenger before landing to run or from an airplane board to an exit from the airport with the offer of options "how to reach Moscow".

The route will be constructed taking into account all airport service (with push-notifications on all preflight formalities, on all changes in information on run), including the options "Restaurants and Shops Are Near", "Discounts Are Near", "Services Are Near" with a search capability of the next points of service and special offers.

Few years ago the Sheremetyevo Airport released the application under Windows Phone OS, however then the project was suspended

One of application requirements is support of iBeacon technology on the basis of Bluetooth. It is used as the system of positioning in premises which allows the different companies to send advertizing on mobile devices of potential or real buyers when those are in a certain zone of reach.

In the application the board of runs and an opportunity to check in for the flight – online registration and Skype registration will be also available. In case of the choice of the last will be transition to Skype with the subsequent automatic call on the account of Sheremetyevo is performed.

All possible options will also be presented in the application how to reach the airport and from the airport, including Aeroexpress and also all options of the movement between terminals of the airport on the shuttle and public transport.

In addition, the application will provide to users the interactive map with a possibility of inclusion/switching off of navigation on the airport. It can be browsed poterminalno, poetazhno, to browse the general scheme of the airport, to filter points on subcategories and to receive the description of objects, having clicked on their icon.

The chief of service of technical infrastructure of directorate on IT of Sheremetyevo Airport Kirill Kulikovtold TAdviser earlier about plans of the airport to develop mobile application. According to him, some time ago the airport already had a Windows application of Phone, however this project was suspended since he demanded additional costs on maintenance to which Sheremetyevo was not ready.
