On January 28, 2015 the Omnicomm company announced equipment of the Yamaha WR450F Rally motorcycles of a command of Yamaha on the races "Rally Dakar 2015" a control system of fuel consumption of Omnicomm.

Project Tasks

The decision on installation of a control system is caused by desire of specialists of a command - to quickly obtain exact information on fuel consumption during the competitions.

Project Progress

Within six months the command before start of YMF conducted active preparation. The fuel system of motorcycles underwent upgrade. Earlier it was provided by four reservoirs, one under a seat, another before a wheel, and on two from each party of the engine. The tanks located at the engine were produced from transparent plastic that helped the pilot to watch the actual fuel quantity during the race that constituted danger to the racer.

Project Results

The new WR450F Rally motorcycle was equipped with one fuel tank under a seat where installed the Omnicomm LLS fuel level sensor. The sensor collects information on fuel and transfers it to the LLD display installed on a steering rack of the motorcycle. Such technology approach allows pilots to control fuel quantity in a tank, its expense and distance in kilometers before the following gas station. At the same time the error of indications makes less than 1%.
