2019: Completion of scaling of information system MRO

On April 29, 2019 the NPP Spectec company announced completion of scaling of information system MRO in MTF PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC. The circuit of the information management system by maintenance and repairs of the Murmansk transport branch PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC switches on the overload terminal. Works are performed by NPP Spectec company.

The Murmansk transport branch PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC for April, 2019 locates own fleet of an ice class and the overload terminal. The terminal in the port of Murmansk performs an overload of products and its further transportation by own railway transport for processing in JSC Kola MMC, or an overload on vessels of other carriers for export to the European ports. In the opposite direction the terminal and the fleet are used for an overload and transportation from Murmansk to Dudinka of loads for supply of the Norilsk industrial region.

The uninterrupted operation of functioning of all transport and logistic complex of branch depends on technical readiness of its elements, so – on timeliness, completeness and quality of maintenance and repair (MRO), including reliable providing a MRO with material resources. Since 2013 in MTF PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC the implementation project of the information management system was unrolled by maintenance and repairs (MRO ISU). As a basis of a system the software of TRIM was accepted. Having convinced of system effectiveness, the management of MTF PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC made the decision on scaling of ISU of a MRO on the overload terminal. For April, 2019 the works are completed.

Scaling of a system allowed to include technical control of the overload terminal, department of rail transportation and department of logistics in a MRO common information space. As of April, 2019 in a system 68 users work. The equipment of department of mechanization – more than 50 units, including portal and gantry cranes, auto-loaders, terminal tractors, utility machines and cars and also the equipment of department of the chief power engineer in which the information system covered the electric networks, networks of heat supply, water supply, water disposal, etc. is entered to the database.

Integration of ISU of a MRO with three adjacent systems interacting among themselves – an information analytical system of corporate accounting of cash flow, the automated control system for the normative reference information, the system of accounting became an important and difficult part of the project. Thanks to integration, users of all systems also work in a common information space, need of repeated data entry is excluded, the efficiency and accuracy of the data regarding a MRO in the specified systems increased.

Thanks to scaling on the overload terminal, in ISU of a MRO the possibility of planning and efficiency analysis of technical operation of objects and divisions on the scale of all branch appeared. A system serves as the cost optimization tool on material resources, implements document flow on processes of a MRO, supply and management of warehouse stocks.

2017: Project Development

On November 17, 2017 the NPP Spectec company announced the beginning of works on scaling of the information management system as maintenance and repairs of the Murmansk transport branch Norilsk Nickel MMC on coastal divisions of branch.

In 2014 the information management system is implemented by maintenance and repairs (MRO ISU) in navigable division of MTF PJSC Norilsk Nickel MMC and on container ships of an ice class, the tanker and the ice breaker.

A system is created on the basis of the software package TRIM, integrated with the system of accounting and financial accounting on the 1C Platform. For October, 2015 in ISU of a MRO 50 users of navigable division are registered, including - department of technical operation of the fleet, department of SZCh and supply of the fleet, department of safety of navigation, the central warehouse MTF.

As a result of scaling the circuit of a system will include coastal divisions:

  • technical control of the overload terminal,
  • department of rail transportation,
  • department of logistics.

Processes of technical operation of portal cranes, container overloaders, the rolling stock and other objects will become control objects in a system. In addition in ISU of a MRO 18 users of the specified coastal divisions will work.

According to plans of project participants, a system appears as means of efficiency analysis of technical operation in the part relating to assets of coastal divisions, cost reductions on a MRO, cost optimization on material resources, the organizations of the general document flow for processes of a MRO, supply and management of warehouse stocks in all production divisions of MTF.

It is expected that with implementation will be reduced:

  • time expenditure on preparation and data exchange between divisions concerning a MRO,
  • on obtaining operational information about existence and the movement of spare parts,
  • on calculations of necessary indicators.

Accuracy of the information, including reports on execution of works will raise.

Within works on scaling of a system specialists of the contractor should develop the project documentation, to supplement the MRO ISU database with information on the objects of coastal divisions which are in operation, to carry out training of users, to perform commissioning.

2015: Creation of the IC of a MRO in the Murmansk transport branch

February 4, 2015. NPP Spectec announces creation and commissioning of the information management system maintenance and repairs in the Murmansk transport branch of JSC "MMC Norilsk Nickel". A system is implemented on the TRIM platform.

Choosing a Solution

For the purpose of risk reduction the company develops the transport infrastructure. In particular, the Arctic fleet is concentrated in the Murmansk transport branch of company (MTF), and consists of 6 modern courts of the strengthened ice class and the ice breaker. Vessels are capable to pass independently the Northern Sea Route, overcoming ices up to 1.5 meters thick. Thanks to it the regular message between the ports of Murmansk, Arkhangelsk and Dudinka is provided, direct runs with export products to the European and Asian ports are performed.

The logistics of the company needs high technical readiness and reliability of courts and a shipboard equipment which ensuring is a difficult task. The solution of this task becomes complicated severe operating conditions of the Arctic fleet, increased requirements of classification societies. In this regard processes of operation, maintenance and repair (MRO) of the fleet are under close attention of the management of MTF. For the purposes of management of these processes in the Murmansk transport branch of JSC "MMC Norilsk Nickel" was unrolled an implementation project of the information management system of a MRO (MRO ISU).

The start was given to the project in October, 2013 when MTF purchased the license to use TRIM – a software package of the class EAM/MRO intended for management of physical assets at all stages of their lifecycle at the enterprise, including at an operational phase, maintenance and repair. The NPP Spectec company – TRIM developer, the professional advisor in the field of management of physical assets of the enterprises, the leading Russian software developer and solutions for management of physical assets and processes of a MRO became the contractor of the project.

Project Progress

For the expired period specialists of NPP Spectec performed all complex of works on implementation of ISU of a "turnkey" MRO. Conducted examination of business processes of the customer, collected necessary data. Developed the project documentation, with the description of future processes and their implementation by means of TRIM. Directories and reference books of TRIM filled with data on courts, a shipboard equipment, spare parts and materials for a MRO, on the performed works of a MRO, the staff list and other information. Installed the exercise machine of an information system at the customer, developed regulations of its operation and the instruction to users, provided system user training. Developed and transferred to the customer the converters of data providing integration of ISU of a MRO with other corporate systems of the customer – a corporate system of application integration regarding reference books by partners and agreements (KUDS) and the system of accounting and financial accounting based on products of 1C.

Result

Since November, 2014 ISU of a MRO is put into operation. A system has a coastal and ship part. Ashore a system covered such divisions of MTF as department of technical operation of the fleet, department of SZCh and supply of the fleet, the central warehouse MTF, management of economy and finance of MTF, department of safety of navigation, the management of navigable management. A ship part is set in courts of the company – five container carriers, one tanker and one ice breaker. The delivered license to use TRIM ensures functioning of 50 users.

A system has distributed nature, is implemented in a configuration – the central database at office and 7 local databases in courts. Synchronization of local bases with office database is implemented by means of replicative packets. Such organization of a system will provide a common information space for users at office and remote users in courts.
