The Russian Defense Ministry set the task until the end of 2015 to adjust the system of remote telemedicine consultations on the basis of equipment of military hospitals and army medical divisions modern telemedicine complexes, reported department in February. According to the Deputy Minister of Defence Ruslan Tsalikov, until the end of the year the system of telemedicine should include already more than 400 military-medical organizations and army medical divisions.
The ministry calculates that this project will allow to bring military medicine to new qualitative level. The main task of a system of telemedicine is rendering quick and effective medical aid by the serviceman and to members of their families, quality improvement of life and its active phase, Tsalikov noted.
The Deputy Minister of Defence added that his department "will consider very attentively" offers from equipment suppliers and hardware and software systems of telemedicine. First of all, the ministry ready developments, "simple and reliable solutions which already effectively work" interest, he added. Existence in the civil sector of the solutions connected with implementation of telemedicine information technologies in military medicine removes need of carrying out own developmental works from the Main Thing of Military Medical Management (MTMMM).
For testing of telemedicine technologies at the end of 2014 the pilot zone which integrated Army medical college of S.M. Kirov, TsVKG of Vishnevsky, a first-aid post on the island of Kotelny, hospital of the Western Military District in Podolsk situated near Moscow and its branch in Ryazan was created.
Within the project on implementation of telemedicine technologies of the Ministry of Defence received GVMU at the beginning of 2015 to handle an issue and of creation of the special center which will coordinate issues of development of a single telemedicine network between the military-medical organizations of the central, district and army link and to solve methodical problems. Similar divisions can be created also in the central hospitals of department.
Earlier the Minister of Defence Sergey Shoygu estimated that on creation of a complete system of military telemedicine in Russia two-three years will leave. He explained need of its creation with that the medical officers working in remote corners of Russia in case of some difficulties, extreme cases could consult quickly online with the colleagues from the lead medical institutions of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
