HP brite box is a line of network switches from Hewlett-Packard (HP) under control of software with the open code on the Linux platform.

On February 19, 2015 the Hewlett-Packard (HP) company announced an exit of a series of switches under control of software with the open code on the Linux platform.

Switches will be made in Taiwan by Accton Technology company, the software for them will be delivered by Cumulus Networks company. HP does not exclude a possibility of cooperation with other software makers in the future.

Network devices of HP refer to new category of the equipment which was called by "brite box switches" [1]) - HP will place the logo on this equipment and to sell under own brand to providers of services and the web companies owning the large websites with a large number of accounts.

Provided to HP switches of two types: 10G/40G and 10G. Both devices support standards 10G/40G at the level of Spine and 10G at the level of Leaf of architecture Spine-Leaf. Installation of the operating system is implemented using the preset loader.

In the second half of 2015 the release of switches 25G/50G/100G for data centers and 1G for customers with special needs is expected.
