Makeev's GRC

The open joint-stock company "State Missile Center named after Academician V.P. Makeev" (JSC "GRC Makeev") was created in 2008 by the transformation from the State Missile Center "Design Bureau named after Academician V.P. Makeev."

Main activities of JSC "Makeyeva GRC"

• scientific research and development on the creation of rocket and rocket-space systems, spacecraft, their systems and nodes;
• development of elements and systems of other types of weapons;
• production of prototypes and serial production of rocket and rocket-space systems, spacecraft and their systems;
• space activities;
• foreign economic activity;
• repair of weapons and military equipment;
• the disposal of weapons and military equipment;
• activities related to the operation, maintenance of copyright, warranty and technical supervision, maintenance and repair of missile and rocket-space systems and their systems;
• Conducting studies and tests for certification and quality control;
• development and production of general industrial and civilian products, including: medical equipment, power plants, environmental control systems, fire and rescue equipment, equipment for the petrochemical industry and consumer goods.

History

By a decision of the USSR government of December 16, 1947, the Special Design Bureau for Long-Range Missiles (SKB-385, later Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering) was created. It was engaged in the development of serial production of missiles developed by OKB-1, headed by S.P. Korolev. In the mid-50s, he began developing ballistic missiles for submarines.

The permanent head of the Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering for 30 years (1955-1985) was a talented scientist and designer, academician V.P. Makeev.

In 1993, on the basis of the Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering, the State Rocket Center "Academician V.P. Makeev Design Bureau" (GRC) was created.

In May 2008, the company was transformed into the open joint-stock company "State Missile Center named after Academician V.P. Makeev" (JSC "GRC Makeev").
