Open Joint Stock Company "State Missile Center named after Academician V.P. Makeev" (JSC "GRC Makeev") was created in 2008 by the transformation from the State Missile Center "KB named after Academician V.P. Makeev."
Main activities of JSC GRC Makeeva
- scientific research and development on the creation of rocket and rocket and space complexes, spacecraft, their systems and nodes;
- development of elements and systems of other types of weapons;
- production of prototypes and serial production of rocket and rocket and space complexes, spacecraft and their systems;
- space activities;
- foreign economic activity;
- repair of weapons and military equipment;
- disposal of weapons and military equipment;

History
2024: Appointment to the post of general director Maxim Golunov
In December 2024, Maxim Golunov headed the Academician Makeev State Missile Center, which is the developer of the Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, the R-17 ballistic missile mobile missile system, the Sineva and Liner sea-based strategic missile system. Read more here
1947-2008
By the decision of the USSR government of December 16, 1947, the Special Design Bureau for Long-Range Missiles (SKB-385, later Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering) was created. It was engaged in the development of mass production of missiles developed by OKB-1, headed by S.P. Korolev. In the mid-50s, he began developing ballistic missiles for submarines.
The permanent head of the Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering for 30 years (1955-1985) was a talented scientist and designer, academician V.P. Makeev.
In 1993, on the basis of the Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering, the State Missile Center "KB named after Academician V.P. Makeev" (GRC) was created.
In May 2008, the company was transformed into an open joint-stock company "State Missile Center named after Academician V.P. Makeev" (JSC "GRC Makeev").
