Rosinzhiniring completed replacement of an array of DWH

On March 20, 2015 the Rosinzhiniring company announced the project of upgrade of service of virtualization of desktops (VDI). The project participant Paladin company integrator^[1].

Project Tasks

The specifics of activity of "Rosinzhiniringa" show strict requirements to all organizational divisions of the company:

• work quickly,
• it is flexible to adapt to new tasks in the shortest possible time and with the minimum costs,
• provide the highest quality of works, irrespective of conditions.

"The professional needs the reliable tool which would allow to perform qualitatively the work and that for the employee the tool as its working environment" — Vladimir Lebedinsky, the director of information technology of Rosinzhiniring company said.

For support of service of virtualization of desktops (VDI) of "Rosinzhiniring" used storage systems of the EVA HP family. Over time amounts of data increased, the number of users increased and also requirements to performance, reliability and scalability raised. Implementation of VDI promoted consolidation of resources that as a result led to bigger utilization of disk space. In 2014 resources of the available arrays of storage systems of the middle class were completely exhausted, and the recommended lives of the majority of storage systems came to an end that could lead to avalanche failure of hard drives, risks of data loss grew. The company made the decision on transition to more powerful and modern technologies.

Project Progress

At a stage of the choice of the solution IT company executives of "Rosinzhiniring" in details studied features of HP 3PAR technologies in relation to processes of the company and its IT infrastructure.

During preproject preparation the Paladin group according to policy of the customer organized preliminary testing of proposed solution on its platform. Based on comprehensive study and testing, the Rosinzhiniring company purchased a storage system of the HP 3PAR family.

Due to deep preliminary study process of implementation and transition to the new platform took place quickly and without problems.

Project Results

"Nobody wants to step on "a children's rake", only if on "adult" — Herman Lobanov, the technical director of Paladin group playfully noted. — And if it is serious, then dynamics of development of the modern Russian companies not always, unfortunately, allows them to estimate soberly that volume of products and solutions which are present at our IT market, and it is very important that customers asked the partner companies for the additional help in a type of consulting or receiving examination".

With implementation of an array of HP 3PAR the Rosinzhiniring company provided the high performance and reliability of functioning of VDI service. By means of automation of a set of transactions labor costs of system administrators of data storage were reduced.
