2015: Completion of SAP implementation of ERP by BearingPoint company
March 24, 2015. The Russian mining company JSC ALROSA, through the international consulting company BearingPoint, announced [1] about project completion of SAP implementation of ERP. Business processes of the company were optimized and unified in the system which became a source of the consolidated and up-to-date information for 3500 users from 56 structural divisions. Creation of process model and a common information space of the company on the basis of the centralized system which received the name KIISU of ALROSA became a project deliverable which started in 2012.
Choosing a Solution
The international consulting company BearingPoint was selected from quality of the general contractor based on an open tender, in many respects thanks to considerable experience in the industry of mineral extraction and successful implementation comparable on the scale and tasks of projects for the companies of the Russian economy. Experience of change management during transformation of business processes of the company and implementation of the unified information system of SAP ERP taking into account a mission, vision and values of the company was one of requirements to the partner in the project.
Functional framework of the project included processes of the following functional areas: Finance, Purchases and supply, Sale, Management accounting, Project management, Consolidation, Budgeting and Analytical reporting.
Project Progress
During the first wave of the project the process model of the company was described, the SAP ERP system for 23 structural divisions is customized and implemented. In January, 2013 the pilot project turned into commercial operation, the three-level customer support department of ALROSA was organized: on places, the centralized support service, project office. At the same time budgeting systems and consolidations were put into commercial operation, and the system of the analytical reporting in 2013 earned in the mode of trial operation. The second wave of the project, replication of the solution on 33 structural divisions of the company which did not enter a pilot project was successfully complete in the second quarter 2014.
The project of creation ERP system was one of conditions for accomplishment of a strategic task of ALROSA company on an exit to the IPO which successfully took place in 2013. We are in many respects obliged by implementation of ambitious plans of the company for full-scale SAP implementation of ERP to the choice of the partner in the project. The BearingPoint company took part in both waves of the project and proved as the reliable partner fulfilling the undertaken obligations that allowed us within the set budget and in time to finish begun Dmitry Chibisov, the head of department of information technologies and communications of JSC ALROSA
It is successful support from company management of ALROSA and professional work of an implementation team, both from client side allowed to complete the KIISU project of ALROSA to us, and from our company. It is possible to call the project unique on an organizational scope and by quantity and specialization of the users involved in the project: ALROSA is the krayeobrazuyushchy enterprise and bears social and infrastructure loading, providing employment to the whole region of Yakutia. A framework of the project included not only core business of the client, but also non-core structural divisions, such as airline, housing and public utilities enterprises, first-aid posts, dining rooms, cultural entertainment center and other.
