Russian Association of Motor Insurers end upgrade of IT infrastructure

On April 7, 2015 the LANIT company announced upgrade of an IT environment by request of the Russian Association of Motor Insurers (RAMI).

Project Tasks

As a part of an IT landscape of the customer the large hardware and software system intended for collecting and data processing of a system of interdepartmental electronic interaction, the automated execution of agreements CMTPL and calculation of discounts of coefficient "bonus-malus" works.

Fault tolerance of a system - the compulsory provision for correct work of all insurance companies entering into the Union. Prior to upgrade IT infrastructure of consolidation included one DPC. In case of non-staff situations work of infrastructure services could stop and insurance companies will not execute the obligations for processing of the existing and new policies of the CMTPL in the terms set by the legislation of the Russian Federation.

For ensuring fault tolerance of all automated systems of RSA decided to create the distributed hi-tech IT infrastructure.

Project Progress

Specialists of department of network integration of LANIT company upgraded the operative equipment and unrolled a new reserve hardware-software complex on the certain platform, including:

• reserve DPC,
• network and server hardware,
• backup systems and data storage.

Such approach helps to recover in a short space of time work of all systems in case of critical failure of one of platforms.

Project Results

In the project products of NR company are used. Creation of a system on technologies and solutions of one vendor allowed to avoid the problems connected with possible incompatibility of components and also to configure uniform management of all system and to reduce the customer's costs on administration and support of a system.

The deployed solutions are integrated with components of the existing systems and together form the failsafe convergent data transmission medium constructed on switches of HP and technologies of HP Virtual Connect.

Computing infrastructure is created on the basis of HP BladeSystem c7000. Requirements of performance and fault tolerance were satisfied by a storage system of HP 3PAR 7400. The backup system is based on the software of HP of Data Protector and tape library MSL4048. Replication of data between the main and reserve DPC is provided.

On completion of works engineers of LANIT carried out tests within which they simulated a typical emergency situation with the subsequent transfer of service in reserve DPC.
